ANNUAL JANESVILLE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS MAGAZINE SALE January 30 through February 11,1970 Fifteen years ago, the Junior High Councils decided to undertake a magazine sale in order to raise funds to carry on a club and activity program. We felt this was a more mature way of handling this matter than asking the School Board for the $5,000 we would require. Since then, we have felt this project has helped consolidate school spirit, as well as result in many benefits to the individual students taking part. We thank the people of JanesviUe for their past cooperation, and ask your help during our coming campaign.

and a Palo Alto publishing firm has purchased the rights to the tapes for syndication over the nation. Dr. Rategan may become the first CSM teacher to earn income from the videotape programs produced at the college. His idea for making the tapes came to him as the answer to the problem of demonstrating equipment to large introductory classes at CSM. "Only a few could see the actual demonstration of the equipment, while the rest just saw the backs of heads," he said.

"What we needed was something to give everyone a front row seat." He and officials of the television station worked out a series of programs in which he demonstrated the use of the key punch, collator and accounting equipment, using five 25-minute tapes. Dr. Rategan then approached six firms in the education field with a proposal that they assume cost of production in exchange for the right to syndicate the progranis to schools and businesses. He is to receive royalties on all sales. Dr.

Rategan was a lawyer with International Business Machines before joining the faculty of CSM. He and Rita Kealey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Kealey, were married in 1960 in St.
