Philip Dailey performed the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Leo Kollasch, Algona, and the groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Mike Mergen, Whittemore. Their four sons, Monte, Donald, Jerry and Jimmy, were hosts. Mr. and Mrs. Newton were married Sept. 13, 1938 at Thoi by Rev. Thorsen," Mr. and Mrs Lester Newton, their attendants, were also present at the anniversary. A program was given in the afternoon. Rev. Harold Mountain gave the devotions. Linda Lenning read'a poem and Mrs. Mountain gave a group of readings. Rosemary Newton presided at the guest book where about 200 were registered. Mrs. Helmei 'Leaning served th6 punch and Mrs. James Lenning poured. "In the case of the Dynamic 88," he con-.,. tinued, "it's ultra-high compression 280- horsepower Rocket engine delivers a substantial increase in performance as well^, ,as increased miles per, gallon on premium- grade gasolines." "This is also true of the new tapered roller bearings which replace the ball-type wheel bearings for greater durability in-" the full-size Oldsmobile for 1962," Oldsmobile's general manager also said that a self-adjusting feature has been incorporated in the power braking systems of the full-size 1962 Oldsmobiles. This feature automatically compensates for brake lining wear by adjusting the clearance be- •— tween lining and drum, eliminating , v the need for frequent brake adjust- , ments. "These improvements," Wolfram said, "along with Oldsmobile's determination to build a car of superiority, are designed for greater customer satisfaction through . greater product reliability." Along this line Wolfram explained that Oldsmobile recently appointed a Reliability Director, reporting directly to the general manager. He is charged with the responsibilities of inspection, quality con-" trol, and "whatever it takes to build a car as faultless as it is humanly possible." Greater distinction between all series of 1962 Oldsmobiles has also been achieved through the use of different moulding treatment and identifying insignia, while interior trim designs and materials have been developed specifically for each. New instrument panels also carry individual series identification. Seventeen body styles are offered in the 1962 Dynamic 88's, Super 88's and 98's. Fifteen exterior colors and six harmonizing interior combinations are offered, all of them of durable; high-luster acrylic lacquer. The new Cutlass Convertible, like its companion model, the Cutlass Couple, will be equipped with all-Morocceen interiors, front bucket seats and Cutlass 185 ultrahigh compression, aluminum V-8 engine. "For 1962," Wolfram continued, "we have made further styling refinements a.nd mechanical improvements. In addition, Oldsmobile's increased emphasis on quality and reliability designed for even greater customer satisfaction, places the F-85 in a class by itself in the low-price field." In 1962,'for the first time, all F-85 models will be equipped with a heater and defroster as standard equipment. Easy installation of seat belts is provided by reinforced brackets, which will also be standard. In addition to the newly-introduced convertibles, the Oldsmobile F-85 line includes for 1962: An F-85 four-door sedan; four-door, two-seat station wagon; four- ' door, three-seat station wagon, and a club coupe; an F-85 deluxe four-door sedan and a deluxe four-door, two-seat station wagon, and the very popular Cutlass Sports Coiipe.
