There was an Easter party given at the home of Albert Myers.

The evening was spent -in roasting; egg's and playing variousgames. Thosepresent reported a jolly time. Mr. Ira Beery of Hoxie, was here visiting for a few days also to attend to business matters. He returned home Tuesday evening.

H. C. Hinckley and family of Belleville, spent Easter Sunday with relatives in Freedom township. A number of the young people of this neignborhood spent Sunday with Miss Leila Milner, it being her birthday. Those present reported Miss Leila a royal entertainer.

Avery Tallent was seen making his regular trip towards J. D. Blacks Sunday evening. There muafc be quite an attraction. The 'Odell school will close soon.

Miss LissaMy-ers, teacher. They have had a very successful school this winter. Mrs. Guy Milner and Oak McCullough attended the last club dance of this season at Belleville last Thursday evening. The farmers are busy sowing oats and cutting stocks.

Everybody 'is cordially invited to come out Rev. Herreck preach every two weeks at the Odell school house. Services at eleven. George McCullough shelled corn Monday. Mr.

Dickerhoof and family attended the show at Belleville Thursday evening. Farmers Attention. An Egg Roast. There was no preaching at Union Valley Sunday night on account of the preacher being sick. Ora and Earl Bowen went up to Byron Saturday. Miss Grace Sheeks spent Saturday night and Sunday with Grace Bowersox. A.

Bowen shelled corn and de- ivered it to Mr. Sanford Monday. Charlie Larson will farm part of the Hancock farm the coming season. Stockdick of Texas is here for an extended visit with his uncle Oliver Johnson and family. Miss Pearle Bowersox is improving slowly.

Jay-Svtaffprd and wife spent Easter at Taylor Hammond's. Mr. Weistein south of Sherdahl is building a new barn. A surprise party was given at the home of R. Nichols Friday night.

Bowersox and Ruth Marshall visited with Ruth Bowersox last Thursday. H. A. Burcher will preach at Union Valley next Sunday Apr. 19th, in the morning at 11 o'clock and in the evening.

Every body invited. Dan Householder shelled corn Friday, Nichol Bros, did the work. Verle Bowersox visited across the river Sunday. PearleMcDowell, Maude Bowen and Mary Moe called at Mr. Hammond's Sunday.

J. I. Bowen visited in Gourtland Saturday night and Sunday. Mrs. Goodwin called in West Union Saturday evening.

JeromeBowersox purchased another line horse last week. Jerome Bowersox and wife called on Grandma Caldwell of Scandia last Friday, who has been quite sick but is im proving at present writing. Mrs. G. McDowell and Mrs.

Morris are on the sick list, Jerome Bowersox is improvinghisor chard by setting out new trees. Maude Bowen visited with Pearle McDowell Sunday. Look out for dago peddlers. They are in the neighborhood. Leamon Johnson met with an accident which might have proven serious while driving cattle a few days ago.

Cora King was in Republic Sunday. The band boys will give their "Scout of the Philippines" the 26th. Jack Shrouf, Josey Holliday, Mr. and Mrs. Davies attended the play Thursday night in Belleville.

Chas. King and Chas. Rickel shipped eight cars of stock to Kansas City this week. Archie King sold an acre of his farm adjoining town to J. H.

Stafford for $250. Seth Jones is building an addition to his residence. He is squaring it and raising it to a two story. Geo-. Beck and Ralph Polley shipped last week.

Mill Forsythe was down from Hardy Thursday. The U. B. church held quarterly meeting Monday. Walter Ware from Oklahoma, has rented and moved his family on one of Alva McClure's farms.

The old soldiers will meet at the city hall Saturday afternoon and will arrange for memorial services. Dr. Foristall and family returned Wednesday from Lindsborg, reporting a pleasant trip and an excellent entertainment. Rev. Pierce preached his first sermon in Belaire last Sunday.
