FRIDAY EVENING, APRIL 4, 1969 BRANCH OFFICE: 1723 Pupils Finish Easter Tree At School 3 Children from kindergarten through the sixth grade at School: 3 recently completed a decora-: Lion project by making an Easter egg tree children created their own Easter egg decorations: using the fragile, empty egg; shell as a hase and applying. various art media to produce! the tree. More than 300 decora-1 tions were added to the tree by the pupils. Awards were presented for the most artistic decoration and the best children's story book! character representation on both; the intermediate and level.

Receiving the primary award for the most artistic decoration was Jeffrey Brown from the kindergarten, and the best story book chargeter represenfation went 1 to Beth Sauter from; the first grade. The intermediate grade award for the most artistic decoration was received by William Dugan of the fifth grade and the best children's story hook character representation went to Daniel Schelde from the fifth grade. The Art Club of the school. comprising sixth graders under the direction of Mrs. Kathy Fischer, produced a paper mache, nameless Easter bunny.

During the last two weeks the children bad been submitting suggestions for naming him into a suggestion box. Sickler of Watereliet; a brother, George Sickler of Florida, and three sisters, Mrs. Irving Castelli of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Raymood Bain of California and Miss Dorcas Sickler of Syracuse, and a granddaughter.

The funeral will be held 1 Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, with Rev. Richard Rieger, pastor of the Messiah Lutheran Church of Rotterdam officiating at lices. GALLAGHERS FISH FRY IS OPEN WATERVLIET, N.Y.

Brownie Troop Makes Baskets For Children Brownie Troop 410, sponsored; by First Presbyterian Church, is making speeial Easter baskets for the children at St. Catherine's Child Care Center in ALbaby. The baskets arc being made with part of their profit from the sale of Girl Scout cookies. The Brownies will present the baskels personally to the dren Saturday afternoon. They will visit the center under the supervision of Miss Ann Fisher, Miss Barbara Phalen and Mrs.

Louise Fisher, leader, Set Date For Tryouts In Local League The directors of the Watervliet Little League bare anjuounced that ivitial tryouts will be held at Lou Kemp Memorial Park Saturday, April 12 with cleven scar olds meeting at 1 p.m. and twelve-year olds working out at 3 p.m. Chairman Lou Cioffi announced that final plans have been completed for the clinic to be held at St. Patrick's Hall starting 7:30 p.m. The clinic was postponed from Wednesday.

The clinic will also be held Wednesday, April 16 al St. Patserv-rick's Hall with Mr. Cioffi in charge of both meetings. They are open to peanut, jumbo and major divisions as well as the parents of the boys. Emily Lyon Philio, 84, of 69 High Green Island, died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital where she was taken after being stricken ill at her residence. She had been under the care of a physician but her death was unexpected. A native of Liverpool, Eng. land, she came to this country as a young girl and settled in Green Island where she resided until her death.

She was member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Green Island. She is survived by her husband, Joacham T. Philio, two sons, Raymond T. Philio of Green Island, and Robert T.

Philio of Elnora; two daughters, Mrs. Schuyler W. Mielenz of Westbury L.I, and Mrs. Rene Renzi of Waterford; a sister, Mrs. Arthur J.

St. John of Green Island; a brother, WilJiam Lyon of Green Island; 10 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the McNully Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Green Island, Saturday at 10 a.m. Cubs Get Awards Three Cub Scouts from Troop 46 were recently presented with the Catholic Cub Scout awardParvili Dei. It is the equivalent of the God and Country award given to Boy Scouts.

The recipients of the Parvuli Dei are James Lazzaro and Matthew and Steven Karwiel. The presentatioo was made at St. Augustine's Church. Webelos Meeting The Webelos of Troop 46 will meet Saturday at 2 p.m. instead of 6:30 today as previously scheduled.

Frank Kopyc Sr. Mrs. Martha Arnold and family were called to Cambridge this week by the death of her brother-in-law, James Dunnigan. He was the husband of Margaret Arnold, sister of the late Thomas Aroold Sr. of this place.

Hospital Gets $600,000 Grant Amsterdam Memorial Hospital has been awarded in federal funds for a $2.3 million addition and alteration project. U.S. Rep. Samuel Stratton, an Amsterdam Democrat, said he was informed of the Thursday by the U.S. Public Health Service.

Mrs. Fetter Succumbs At Hospital Mrs. Anna Mikusinski Fetter, of 113 15th Watervliet, a natire of Waterylict and widow of Joseph Fetter, died Thursday at St.

Mary's Hospitai following la long illness. Born in Watervliet, Airs. Fetter had lived in Menands for awhile until eight years ago when she moved back to Water. viet. She was a member of Blessed Virgin Mary Polish National Catholic Church, Albany.

Mrs. Fetter was a member of Pulaski Women's Auxiliary of Watervliet, Polish National Uniou of American and Ladies Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Society of Watervliet. Survivors include two sisters, Miss Mary M. Mikusinski and Mrs. Edward A.

File, both of Watervlict. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Lasak Funeral Home, 130 Northfern Albany, and at 9 a.m. from the Blessed Virgin Mary Polish National Catholic Church where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery.

Warning Given After 5 False Alarms In City Commissioner of Public Safety Raymond C. Selke today leveled strong warning day 10 all persons responsible for turning in false alarms. Fire Chief Frank J.
