Our methods have changed too -we have tried to give this community. the very best-in other words we've tried to keep pace with the times, But one thing has not changed--and that's the spirit behind this organization.

There is still the same friendship, the same standards of ideals, and the same higli quality of service that was in the beginning. And in the same unchanging spirit we offer our New Year Greetings and our wishes for happiness for everyone' throughout 1938. Worship Services Without Ritual Held By Friends Church Worship is without ritual in the Friends church, located at the corner of Sixth street and Mulberry avenue. Freedom of expression is allowed to all, the spiritual nature of. worship is stressed, and outward rites or ceremonies are not used.

Men and women have equal privileges in every part of. the work of the church. The official body is composed of three groups, ministers, elders, and overseers. The present pastor, serving the his fifth Rev. George Evans, is year in the local church.

Interest is given to foreign missions, the local church raising sum annually for this purpose. Always the Friends church has stood in opposition to war, from reasons economic or moral, but because of a faith that war is incompatible with the spirit and teaching of Jesus. For similar reasons in days past the church opposed human slavery and in opposition to the drink traffic. In Eureka, transport trucks must follow a route that keeps them out of the congested city districts.
