May 4, 1961 Alaanq do.) Upper De» Art Exhibit May 8-9 Exhibits don't just happen overnight. Quite a bit of planning by junior high, high school and adult art Students at Algona high school has gone into an art exhibit to be held in. the local gym next Monday and Tuesday, May 8-9. According ito Miss Condon, local instructor, many fine works by local artist will be on display during the two-day event and ithe public is cordially invited to attend. One other students, Mary Cowan, is shown above in front of a background of projects hung on the wall of ithe art room at the high school. Some of those shown will be included in <the exhibit. (UDM Engraving) • • ' , Chan Dailey Is Red Hot; Has 691 Series Here Chan Dailey, who ; has been bowling for many years, had perhaps his hottest night of all last week when he flipped a 265 single iline, added at ito a 224 and 202 to post a 691 series ooumit, both tops for men, at Algona Lanes. Top scores for women, were .posted by Dee Riedel, who had a 219 and 177) on her way to a 520 series, anil Elaine Vera, who had a 528 series itotal and 180 line. Other women over 175 during the week were Kay Voigt 214 (526 series), Charlotte Baldwin 196 (510 series), Jean Higgs 190, Bunny Erdman 180, 183 (505 series). Bertha Thuente 169, Jackie Laing 186, 179, Jean Reynolds 185, Jeri Briggs 178, 181, Jo Mueller 183, Irene Hanig 180, Lois Furst 176, Dorothy Kraft 186, and June Winkel 177. Other men over 210 'were Bob Riedel 223, 216, (627 series), Frank King 223, Swede Batt (612 series), John Levy 230, 215 (607 series), Wally Erdman 224 (601 series), Bud Briggs 224 (601 series), Doyle Dailey 222, Stan Black 213, Eugene DuraiU 233, Pudge Miller 220, Bill Colwell 210, Bill Lamprighit 217, Dean Jergenson 221, Bernie Kramer 221, Jim Kcilly 212 and Cliff Benschoter 220. COYOTE Roger Shut-dor of Guthrie Center recently killed a coyote when it crossed ' the road directly in front of his car. It's unusual foi coyotes to be seen on or near a road let alone a heavily travel- led road.
