It. li. I'eters has announced his intention of building a modern residence tract nut of his fine piece of property that stretches from University to Forest avenues. The tract contains eighty acres and there is no better around the city. Mr.

According to the calculations of experts the scene of the disturbance was nhout 4,000 miles from here, and if the district was inhabited, the visitation must have been disastrous.

LONDON, Jan. The seismograph on the Isle of Wight recorded a severe earthquake this morning Professor Milne says that the disturbance Is apparently in the eastern Mediterranean. BF.ilLIN. Jan. 23.

The location of the shock was apparently 2,100 miles to the cant ward and Is supposed to be In the Caspian region, Germany, Jan. great earthquake was registered here at 4 o'clock this morning nearly equal in Intensity to tha shock at Messina Just month. WASHINGTON. P. Jan, 28.

Tha seimnographs of the weather bureau recorded an earthquake of distant origin late last evening that Is much the same In character and intensity as the record obtained at th time of the recent great Italian earthquake. According to a bulletin of tha bureau, the first preliminary tremors began at 10:12:06 D. m. The second preliminary tremors are not well defined in the records. Tha strong motion lasted from 10:30 until after 11 o'clock, the whole earthquake bRving a duration of about one and a half hours.
