Keller is pastor and honorary member of the rummage sale committee, PRUNE MEN TO GET 5880,000 SAN FRANCISCO, April Directors of the California Prune Control Board at their closing meeting yesterday voted to distribute $330,000 to nearly 12,000 growers in final settlement for prunes in the 1934 crop reserve tonnage pool. Liquidation of the organization probobly will be completed next month, it was announced. E. W. Stillwell, secretary-manager of the pool, said a report on the closing business of the group must be sent to the secretary of agriculture for approval.

If -no untoward delay occurs in this matter, checks to growers should be sent out by May 20, he estimated. Stillwell reported all prunes now have been sold. About $1,507,000 previously had been distributed, he said. The further distribution in liquidation of the pool will be at an average of $9 per ton for standard prunes and about $2.80 for substandard grades, which have been sold for by-product uses. payments will be made direchese some 7500 growers non-members of the California Prune and Apricot Growers' Association.

The association anticipated the final standard fruit payment last Fall in payments to its membership of about 4000 growers, but will make the further payment on substandard deliveries. DR. Elmer Dyer to recover salary paid to Mrs. Florence Cameron while she assertedly was illegally employed as a deputy clerk was to be resumed late today before Superior Judge Leon E. Gray. The city is seeking to recover $1,677.50 in salary and interest on the ground that Bryant and Dyer approved Mrs. Cameron's salary warrants while knowing that she was not a citizen of the United States and therefore was not elegible, to employment.

STOKOWSKI ON KPO Leopold Stokowski and his Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, now touring the country in a 10-car special train, will be heard during the Music Hall program tonight. The broadcast originates in Hollywood. Owing to the size of the orchestra, which has 104 members, Stokowski and his organization will occupy special studio, while Master of Ceremonies Bing Crosby, and other artists on the program will occupy another studio.

In the meantime here is brief biography Wever admirers: (Edward Hooper) Wever was born in New York City 31- years ago this month. By the time he was graduated from Pawling School and ready to enter Princeton, Ned had determined on a stage career. At Princeton he joined Triangle Club, the college dramatic group. Was elected president of the club in his senior year and wrote book and lyrics for its show: "They Never Come Back," Though the theater is his metier he has written short stories, plays and a good many lyrics.

His most recent popular song is "Trouble in Paradise." He got his first professional stage experience acting in stock, with Stewart Walker's Indianapolis stock companies. His first Broadway job was in "The Fan" with Hilda Spong. Belasco's attention was attracted, and before long Ned was playing in the great producer's "Merchant of Venice," with David Warfield. He was given his first radio assignment in 1929. For the first few years over the air he played juvenile, romantic and comedy roles only, Of late years he has been give "heavy" parts.

A dramatic re-creation of the story of Joe Kristy and Alex Mackay, British subjects sentenced to die and given a 30-day reprieve by the Governor, will be one of the features of the "Magazine" broadcast tonight. SAN FRANCISCO, April The State attorney-general's staff today prepared to call additional witnesses to support its opposition to Tom Mooney's habeas corpus application; following testimony. by an eye-witness to the 1916 Preparedness Day explosion that killed 10 persons and injured 40.

The witness, James W. McDougall, who was a 13-year-old Boy Scout (that the he time and of his the blast, comrades testified had escaped possible death by only 30 seconds. The Boy Scout troop, McDougall said, was lined up at Market and Steuart Streets, scene of the explosion, waiting to join the patriotic procession that was swinging down Market Street.
