Townsend Club ', Algonn Townsend Club met at the home of Mr and Mrs A. M. Anderson March 28. Miss Bilsborough read the first National Convention call which will be held at Grand Rapids, Mich. A report of the' Benefit Coffee parly at Mrs Holdren's was .given. The next meeting will be at Miss Bilsborough's April 11. Anyone interested in the Social Security Law or the Townsend Plan ara welcome to attend. Following the meeting, all played games with the door prize going to Mrs W. R. Carney. Lunch was served. Baby Baptized Jerome Melvin Kramer, infan son of Mr and Mrs Marvin Kra mer of Algona, born March 22 was baptized Easter Sunday in St. Cecelia's church by Msgr. P P. Gearen. Mr and Mrs Melvin Bauer of Carroll were sponsors Guests in the Kramer home in observance of the baptism were Mr and Mrs Melvin Bauer 01 Carroll, the maternal grandparents, Kr and Mrs A. J. Eischeid and son of Algona and the paternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs Adam Kramer of Livermore. Observe Birthdays Mr and Mrs Corwin Peer were guests Easter of the letter's parents Mr and Mrs W. H. Helmke at Renwick. Other guests were Mrs Peer's brother and sister-in- law Mr and Mrs Jerry Helmke, of Humboldt. The birthdays 01, Mrs Peer and. the Messrs. Helmke were celebrated. Host Baby Shower Mrs JamesiFett, Corwith and Mrs Herb Shauer, Algona were co-hostess at a baby shower, held at the Herb Schauer home, Thursday evening March 23, honoring Marsha LeeRae Jensen, infant daughter of the Franklin Jensens, Algona. Annual Luncheon St. Thomas Episcopal church will hold its annual spring luncheon and bake sale this Saturday, April 8, with serving from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church here. The menu will include creamed chicken on biscuits, coleslaw, pie, coffee or milk. Mrs Streit Hostess Mrs Matthew Streit entertained her birthday club a week ago Thursday afternoon. After luncheon at Van's the women went to Mrs Streit's for cards. The birthday of Mrs H. M. Smith was being observed. Birthday Observed Mr and Mrs Paul Palmer were dinner guests Sunday of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Si Hamilton, at Irvinpton. Tho birthday of Mr Hamilton wns being observed. Mrs Tom Ellefson. 14* Fenton Council Plans Blacktop Street Repair Fenton town council Monday night made plans to repair blacktop streets as soon as the weather permits, possibly this week. The council accepted a bid by McFall Plumbing and Heating of Fenton for repair work at the fire station. The work will involve about $200 expense. Three building permits were issued; one to Mrs Edith Hayenga to move a house into town; one to Albert Mitchell to move some small buildings; and one to Krause Phillips 66 station to erect a building behind the station.
