Langfitt Gets Trophy of Henry Hintz, 68, nephew oi Mrs,Meyer, held Tuesday after^ noort in the Emmanuel Lutheran churtfh in Pomeroy, Mr Hintz grew to manhood and attended the Lutheran school in Lotts Creek, and of late had been farming in the vicinity of Pomeroy. He also was a brother of Mrs Emma Dreyer of Algona. Ray Langfitt, manager of the Algona Theatre, is shown at the left above as he received the Showmanship Trophy, which carries With it the title "Master Showman", from Larry Day, Des Moines, of Central States Theatre Corp. The presentation was made here, Thursday afternoon. Other awards copped by Langfitt during the year 1960 included 2 cash awards, a $100 savings bond and a nice new wrist watch. The awards came as a result of promolions by the local theatre prior to showings of several movies, (UDM Polaroid Photo-Engraving)— Junior Leaders Meeting Is Held Thirty-nine older 4-H members attended the junior leaders meeting Thursday night. After some mixer games, the business meeting was held with Art Mogler acting chairman. Jean Keith told the group about the activities of the Kossuth-Hancock winter camping trip and Susan Nitchals and Tom Henry reported their experiences as honorary mayor and city clerk at Algona 4-H Day. An informative pantomime on dating etiquette was presented by the committee with Louise Skow as narrator. Those who participated in the pantomime were Art Mogler, Kenneth Bierstedt, Jean Keith, Nancy Chambers, Rosemary Gisch, Rosemary Ulses, Kathleen Eden and Dean Dodds. St. Pat's Luncheon " The Kossuth County Democratic Women's Club held a St. Patrick's luncheon at the Algona Country Club Tuesday, Mar. 14. A large crowd attended. A very attractive smorgasbord table was arrayed with President and -Mrs Kennedy's picture, featuring red, white and blue decorations while the main decorations were carried out in the St. Patrick's day •theme. Community singing of Irish songs was followed by bridge and 500. Mrs Bob Gengler ot Whittemore^ won a floral arrangement as a door prize. Mrs Kirby Smith of Burt, Mrs Luke Youngwirth of Wesley and Mrs LeRoy Klepper of Lone ' Rock won bridge prizes. Mrs Tony Schmitt of Algona, • Mrs Lois Votteler of Fenton and Mrs R. C.
