6-Algono (la.) Upper Des Maine* Thursday, March 16, 1961 Mrs. Luella Baker was Called to Kanawaha Sunday by the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Lucas. M*. and Mrs. Waller Siemens spent the weekend at Freeman, S. D., with ,the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Krehbiel. Mrs. Sarah Smith is visiting with her daughter Mrs. Harry Kranz at Lockport, 111. Mrs. Effie Teeter and Mr, and Mrs. Vern Teeter were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Buffington in the-Doan vicinity.' Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Allen attended the girls basketball games at Des Moihes Friday and Saturday. „ Mrs. Nell Potter was visited last Sunday by her son-in-law Victor Applegate, Ames, who also visited his parents at Corwith. Mrs. Cora Bacon has been visited the past six weeks by her daughter Mrs. Stanley McDonald, Halfway, Ore., who concluded the visit Thursday. Brenda, four and a half month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bonnette is again at home after four days of hospitalization at St, Ann for pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mino had the former's brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mino and family and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bailer and family, Swea City, as dinner guests Sunday. Mrs Pern Foster was visited Friday by her nephew Dallas Foster, Fdrt Dodge. J. D. Burns is a pallent at 8*1, Ann. It is expected he' will 'be dismissed in a few days. Mrs. Nell McCall was visited over the weekend by her 9oJt<in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Griffin and John, Sioux City. , Marilyn Lawman, who leaches physical education in, the Daveri- port schools, spent the weekend with her partnts Mr. and. Mrs. Perry Lowman. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Heinders had Mr. and Mrs. James Potter, Nevada, as dinner guests Sunday. The Potters and Mary EasOh of Des Moines came ,to see the mother, Mrs. A. J. Eason, who,is at St. Ann hospitalized with a fractured hip. They were over night guests of Mrs. 1 Sundet's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.-Alfred Lembee at Atlantic, who had , recently moved there from Fontanelle. Mr. and Mts. Julian ckrlsehllles spent, a few days at Minneapolis this week and were guests of the latter's brother-in-law and' sister,. Mf. and Mrs, Richard Boisjolie. . \ Mr. and Mrs, Dick Post spent Monday and over night in Des Moines on business. They also visited with Mrs. Pbst's brother and sister^in-ilaw, Mr. and Mrs, Maurice White. Mrs. Myma Orion and son Webster were business visitors to Nashua one day last week.'En- route home they stopped at Mason City to visit with Mr. and. Mrs. Wilson Abern'athy and family. Joan Byam is coming from Cedar Falls where she is enrolled at Iowa State Teachers college and will spend the weekend With i«r parents, Mr, and Mrs. Perry Byam. . ' Mf. and Mfsteward Seafdsley have received word from theli eon Charles, of Austin,, Tex. that he has been in Chicago-, where he was enrolled a,week at the National Academy of Forensic Science.' Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hulzell have returned from Maywood, Calif., where they spent a fortnight with their son-in-ilaw arid daughter Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Johnson and two year old daughter, Merilee. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Collins drove to Menlo Wednesday -and the next day brought back her mother, Mrs. Edith Fritz, Who will visit here several days. Mr, Collins also transacted business n Des Moines. ' • Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith have jeen, visited by Mrs. Joe- Beitz, 3uyck, Minn., who also spent some t!ffl6 With other relative* Mr, and Mrs, Smith had BS guests Sunday Mr, and Mrs. Bhil Kreh* biel. Mr.'and Mrs. Max Basi were visited by, Mrs. Alvliia Bast, Em* metsburg,-wh6 concluded the visit Monday. She also Visited, with Mrs. Alma Bast, who has had recent surgery for removal of cataracts. She has made very good recovery. Richard Yeoman and Mrs. L. C, Faber took Mrs. Bernard Yeoman to Mason City Tuesday where she took a plane to near Tampa, Fla., called there by the sickness of her father, Lloyd Hudson, He is improved from the pneumonia which followed flu and Mrs. Yeoman will be home Saturday. Richard, ithe son, who ha* been home on leave, has returned to his base in Virginia. He is attending a helicopter school.
