Mrs. Lillian Harnish, president, conducted the business meeting.

Plans were made for the family picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Manbeck on August 30. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Keener to Mrs.

Sally Keen- 'er, Mrs. Lillian Harnish, Mrs. Helen Richards, Mrs. Ruth Ed ris, Mrs. Wayne Dieffenbach, Mrs.

Elsie Manbeck and Mrs. Minnie Gettel. Flower Club On Monday evening the Rehrersburg Flower Club met at tshe home of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Pretsch.

Flower Club Council will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Knoll on Aug. 21. The Flower Show will be held on the Reading Fair Grounds the week of the Reading Fair.

Present were Mrs. Anna Moyer, Mrs. Emma Stoudt, Mrs. Helen Fritz, 'Mrs. Agnes Frkz, Miss Stella Oxenreider, Mrs.

Charles Du Bois and Mrs. Minnie Gettel. "Happy Birthday" was sung for Mrs. Dietsch who has an anniversary this montih. She showed pictures of her trip through the Middle West this summer after which she served refreshments.

Sally Knapp spent Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Feick and family, Shar- ttesville. W. Lebanon Playground Stages Talent Show Approximately 300 persons attended a talent show Thursday night at the West Lebanon.

Playground. ZION, August 15 Fred Kurkowski of the Lancaster Sem- inajy and at present assistant chaplain of the Harrisburg Mental Hospital was the speaker at the United of Christ on Sunday morning. Flowers in the altar vases were presented by Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Snavely. The Ladies Aid Society met in the grove on Sunday afternoon.

After a business session conducted by the President Dorothy Shirk a covered dish social was held by the members and their families. Plans were made for a ham supper to be held in September. On Thursday night members of fche church met in the Sunday School room to form a study group headed by Dr. Perry L. Smith.

At Zoar's Lutheran Church the flowers were presented by tfie Wolfe children in honor of their motiher, Mrs. Elsie Wolfe. Choir Entertained' The choir members were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sholly at a doggie roast held at their home on Sunday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rittle have purchased the Paul Sanger home on Lebanon Route Two anc expect to move there by the enc of the month. Mrs. Carrie Grimm moved to her new home on Thursday al Weavertown which she purchased recently.

Harold Boyer and family attended -the Grumbine reun ion at Lititz Park on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ashley 01 Louisville, Kentucky visited Mr and Mrs. Floyde Houiz on Tues day afternoon.

Mrs. Ashley is a niece of Mrs. Houtz. Miles Spangler, Wilbur Spangler, Earl Hoffa, Glenn Hoffa anc Amos Grumbine attended a bal game between the Phillies and Pittsburgh at Philadelphia on Tuesday night. Mr.

Williamsport on Denver Lions Plan For Annual Picnic DENVER, Aug. 15 The Denver Lions Club met in the Denver Fire Hall on Wednesday evening with 35 members present. Milton Steffy Jr. presided.

President Staffy announced that George H. High of the New Holland club was named deputy governor and George Fuller of the Ephrata club zone chairman. Plans were completed for the annual picnic to be held August 20 in Denver Memorial Park. A lunch will be served by the Denver Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. The club furnished transportation to Maple Grove swimming pool for children attending the Denver playground with their supervisors.

The park committee of the Denver Memorial Park has se- ected August 23 as Denver Day. The Denver union of churches will have joint Sunday School and church services in the park during'the forenoon. The Allentown Band will play during the afternoon and evening. Meals will be served by the women committees of the park. The day had been an annual occasion and will serve as homecoming day for former residents.

Rev. Walter E. Waybright chairman of the Denver Union churches announced that Dr. Clarence A. Ncal, pastor of Trin ty Lutheran church, Chambers- )urg will preach at the forenoon service.

In case of rain, this service will be held St. fohn's Lutheran church. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gensemer returned from a two weeks vacation in Hawaii and Las Vegas, Nevada.

The trip was made by plane and included many interesting places in the Hawaiian islands. They sew many acres of growing pineapples and sugarcane. They report the climate of Ihe islands as excellent and the people pleasant and sociable. They spend several days at the El Rancho Hotel, in Las Vegas. Rev.

and Mrs. Amos Heisey attended Sunday afternoon services at the Berks County Home. The service was conducted by Rev. Charles W. Pfautz of the Reading Mission, a close friend of the Heiseys for many years The Heiseys and Rev.

Pfautz made a tour of the building be fore the service. The sermon was preached bi Rev. Pfautz. A colored chorus from Reading sang numerous selections. A duet was sung bj Rev.

The Denver Midget basebal team attended the Philly-Pitts burgh game at Philadelphia on Tuesday evening. The Denver Lions club at tended the Philly-Pittsburgh game at Philadelphia, Wednes day evening.
