Survived by a brother, Waldo of Fort Dodge; and two sisters, Mildred Humboldt dies the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War Following his discharge be served congregations in Keen Valley, N.Y, New Hyde Park, N.Y, and Stratford, Conn. Rev. Burr began his ministry at the Humboldt church in December, 1960, and served until his retirement in January, 1981.

After retiring he was active in many community and county organizations, including the Humboldt Rotary Club and Masonic lodge. The Rev. Burr is survived by his wife, Ruth; son and daughter-in-law, Jame and Jill Burr of Humboldt; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Joseph Hood of Citrus Heights, grandchildren, Rachel, Stephen, Amy and Maria Burr of Humboldt; a sister, Edna Burr of Des Moines.
