First Pork Show Slated At Sale Barn On Feb. 1 Now is the time to start thinking about selecting two market hogs for the Hog Show Feb. 1, sponsored by the Kossuth County Pork Producers, reminds Galen DeValois, county Extension director. This show is being held to interest the typical hog producer in Kossuth and other counties in entering two market hogs and seeing how they do, both live and carcass. Another feature of the show is that the hogs will not be shown or driven in the ring by their owner. They will be shown in the ring by a number only. Judge for the show is Dave Huinker from the boar testing station at Ames. The show will be held at the Algona Livestock Auction, three-fourths mile north of the junction of highways 18 and 169 at Algona. The judging contest, with separate classes for adults and youth, willl begin at 6:30 p. m. and the show at 7:30 p. m. There is no advance entry or entry fee needed, but all hogs entered must be weighed between 1 and 5 p. m. Feb. 1. The hog carcasses may be viewed at 10:30 a. m. Feb. 3 at Hormel at Ft. Dodge. Those interested in attending may meet at 9:15 a. m. at the Extension office to share rides. For more information, contact Dave Anderson, Algona, show chairman; Dick Kuecker, Algona, president of the Kossuth County Pork Producers; or any of the directors of the Pork Producers, Owen Curry, LuVerne; Chas. Nygaard, Wesley; Paul Bernhard, Fenton; Clair Reding, Ottosen; Robert Gerber, Algona; Gerald Pedersen; and Maurice Erpelding, Wesley, technician. Also, information can be obtained at your county Extension office. Real Estate Transfers Aukes, Walter L. & Greta to Walter L. & Greta Aukes 11-3067 N 1/2 12-97-28.
