Ed Lickteig took their daughter, Linda, to Mason City Dec. 18 and she left by plane for Chicago where she will spend the holiday as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Framburg n. MR. AND MRS. Kenneth Beisch took Mllo Rentz to Iowa City Sunday where he will go through the clinic. Christmas guests of the Rentz' will be Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Steward and family, Hazel- crest, HI., and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hanevick and son, St. Paul. The Cecil Stewards will also visit the Walter Stewards, Burt. MR. AND MRS. T. James Palmer will have as holiday guests, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Palmer, Debra, Dawn, Thomas and TcxJd of State College, Pa. They will arrive Friday for a 10-day visit at the parental home. Robert works for Peat, Morwick and Livingston of Boston, and lias an office in the research lab at Pennsylvania State College. Mrs. Michael Gagen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. James Palmer, and her children, Michael, Michelle and Mark of Cheyenne, Wyo., will also be visiting here for two weeks. Mr. Gagen is a forester In the state of Wyoming, and is also in the Naval Reserve and will be making a cruise the first few weeks in January. DON REID1NGER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Reidinger and a student at UNI, is spending the holidays with his parents. Mrs. Reidinger was hostess to her bridge club Wednesday evening. They ate dinner at a local cafe, then returned to Riedinger's for a gift exchange and cards. MR. AND MRS. Herman Wise received word of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. James Bishop of Altoona Dec. 8. Mrs. Bishop is the former Gloria Wise. The new granddaughter has been named Karla Jeanne. The Wise's plan to spend Christmas at their home and become acquainted with the new granddaughter. JEAN SIGSBEE, Sarasota, Fla., arrived Dec. 16 for a visit over the holidays with Algona relatives and friends. She has been attending Manatte Junior College in Brandenton, Fla. She will also visit her brother, Bill ami family at Waterloo. AMONG STUDENTS from this area who will attend a leadership training course for outstanding juniors and seniors, from schools of the Sioux City Diocese, Dec. 27, 28 and 29, at Sioux City, will be Jeanne Crotty of Whittemore, Jackie Miller, Rose Studer, Susan Elbert and Sandy Elbert of Algona, and Marlys Kemna, Sharon Martin, Tim Montag and Alan Blair of West Bend. RICHARD PRATT, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pratt, was among the graduates of Mankato State College last Friday. His-parents attended the graduation and a family gathering was held in the evening at the Pratt home here with all three boys home for the occasion. MR. AND MRS. William T. Becker will have their son, William, Jr. and family, Buffalo Center, and son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Stales, Chamberlain, S.D., as Christmas weekend guests. PAM HOPKINS Mr. and Mrs. John Hopkins, Algona, have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Pam, and Roger Ferris, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. J.Ferris, also of Algona. Both are graduates of Algona High School. The wedding will be held Jan. 14 in Trinity Lutheran church here. The newlyweds-to-be both attended Iowa State University, Ames, and Roger is in the U. S. Army, stationed at Ft. Eustis, Va. MR. AND MRS. Harry Alt will have as Christmas dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Alt, and Mrs. Mervin Jentz, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lampe, Burt; Mr. and Mrs. Eli Gerber and Mrs. Katie Alt, West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wibben, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Ditsworth, Algona; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greinert, RingstedjMr.andMrs. Dean Willrett, Mankato, Minn.; and the respective families.
