on Monday at the Hines Elementary School Cafeteria adjacent to the Jackson Seventh-day Adventist Church at 1902 N. Campbell St. at the corner of Ridgecrest. Anyone in the community who wants to learn to include more plant-based foods in their diet is welcome to attend whether they are vegetarian or not. Participants should bring a dish and its recipe.

The dish this month should be either a red, white, and or blue hue or a picnic food of any color. Following the meal, a 30 minute DVD on the subject of 'Longevity' will be shown which features Dr. Don Hall, President and CEO of Wellsource, Inc. Participants will also have the opportunity turned from college and working for Union's theater department, West has been involved with four shows (not including 'Anything Goes') since 2007 and tries to work with them whenever possible. "Community theater groups like Jackson Theatre Guild have all the passion and dedication to the work that you find in a professional company; we're all here because we love the theater, we want our community to have access to it, and we're eager to roll up our sleeves, even put on dancing shoes if need be, to make that happen." West said this show is an excellent example of Cole Porter's talent for joy.

"We've put a lot of hours into getting as much out of his show as we can. We can only hope you have half as much fun seeing the show as we've had putting it together." Jenni Turner, who plays Charity, one of Reno's angels "I love performing," said Turner. "So, any chance I get to be a part of a play, I'm gonna go for it." This is Turner's first time being part of a Jackson Theatre Guild production, and she said it has been fun. "It's ridiculously hilarious, and so much fun," Turner said. "Anyone would love this play." er for musicals.

"I like to sing and dance and entertain people. If I can make at least one person happy with my performance, then I know it was all worth it." Douglas said he has made a lot of good friends through the Jackson Theatre Guild since 2008. "I really enjoyed being a part of this show," Douglas said. "It's a great show with a great cast and wonderful songs and dances." James Krenis, who plays Ling, a passenger and member of ensemble Originally from New York City, but now living in Jackson, Krenis supports all the Jackson arts. "The arts is what puts Jackson on the map," Krenis said.

"Hunting and fishing and travel ball and high school football are staples of the region, but these other activities make this a real city." Krenis said he is shocked at how much talent there is in West Tennessee. "The JTG participants are almost exclusively really creative, freethinkers who dare to be different." Thomas Arbuckle II, who plays a bishop and co-assistant director Seventeen-year-old Arbuckle was born and raised in Jackson. He auditioned for the show for several reasons, he said. "Initially, it was to have a back-up plan, in case I did not get called for Governor's School (I was an alternate for six different schools). I also auditioned because 'Anything Goes' was getting rave reviews during its Broadway revival last year.

It really is a great, standard Cole Porter piece. I wanted to be a part of it. Plus, it's been a year since I've done a musical, so I was having withdrawals." Arbuckle was encouraged to join the Guild when he started theater in middle school. "But I was so new to the art and intimidated by the prospect of working with people older than me and way more talented than me. I could not have been more foolish," Arbuckle said.

"I've been lucky to be a part of a couple of brilliant casts with JTG. There are no 'weak links' that bring the show down." Arbuckle is excited for July 12, the opening night of production. "I hope that, just for a couple of hours, people can forget any problems they're having, any stress and enjoy a night at the theater. That's our job." Ben West, who plays a pair of character roles as well as a member of ensemble A local recently re- Anything Continued from Page C1 musical theater." Will Wilson, who plays Elisha Whitney and a member of the ensemble 'Anything Goes' is Wilson's fourth show at Jackson Theatre Guild. Wilson moved to Jackson three years ago to be near his son and daughter-in-law.

"I auditioned for this show because I'd become acquainted with Scott Conley and admired his work but hadn't yet had a chance to do one of his shows, and well, it's Cole Porter." Conley is directing the Jackson Theatre Guild's production of 'Anything Wilson said being involved with this production has been a great experience. "There are three dads involved in 'Anything Goes' whose daughters are in the cast, showing me once again what a close-knit, family based group this is. I will always be grateful I've been allowed into the family."
