Titonkan In Hawaii HONOLULU, Hawaii « Gene Krominga, Titonka, arrived here last week for a preview of the 1968 Frigidaire home appliances he expects to show to area residents at Titonka. Mr. Krominga is one of a select group of about 1600 Frigidaire dealers and master merchandisers flown here from U. S. mainland cities across the country. The massive airlift began earlier this month when the first of a fleet of intercontinental jets took off from Cleveland, Chicago, New York and Oakland. The mass 'transit continued through Nov. 21 as more jets left Kansas City, Atlanta, Boston and Dallas. Mr. Krominga and all dealers on the Hawaiian visit will tour this and one other island - either Maul or Kauai - during their six-day stay here. LuVerne Auxiliary Xmas Party LUVERNE - Legion Auxiliary met Monday, Nov. 6. President Darlene Curry presiding. It was voted to send a girl to Girls State in '68. A $25 memorial was given by the Giddings family in remembrance of their wife and mother, Mrs. Viva Giddings, a member of the Legion Auxiliary for years. County meeting will be at Wes- ley on Nov. 14. The December meeting will be a Christmas party with a 6:30 dinner and a 50-cent gift exchange. Entertainment by Violet Dimler and LorettaGuy. Guessing games will be played. - o- J.J. CLUB J. J. Club met Nov. 10 in the home of Aim Bjnstrom. Program by Gertie Hefti. She read some very interesting events out of old LuVerne newspapers of the first settlers, first business places and first churches, tt was enjoyed very much by the 13 members present. The Christmas party will be held Dec. 8, hostess Jean El* bert. A 50-cent gift exchange, a silent auction and a white elephant auction will be held. Program by Florence Stewart. - o- PLAN PARTY LuVerne Memorial Society met Nov. 9 at city hall with president Alice Hinz presiding. Roll call was answered by 22 members and two guests, Mrs. Martha Bierstedt and Mrs. Anna Hanselman. Readings were given by Emma Krause and Wilma Baskerville. Bingo was played. Lunch was served by hostesses, Tillie Baumgartner, Margaret Glisby, and Ruby Godfrey. December will host the Christmas party with a 75-cent gift exchange. Please include names on gifts. Hostesses will be Florence Stewart, Eleanor Kubly and Myrtle Eggleston. - o- Union Thanksgiving services will be held Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. At LuVerne the services will be held in the Methodist church with Rev. Ralph Hindman. Mrs. Robert Blumer, Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Delaine Blumer attended a baby shower for Mrs. Donald Gifford in the home of Mrs. David Bunkofske, Hurt. Rev. and Mrs. Roy Biesemeyer attended the Sub-District meeting at Humboldt Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Whitleyof Mitchellville visited Saturday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moedlng and also attended Homecoming. Darrel Moeding of Estherville attended Homecoming and visited with a number of old friends in LuVerne. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Blumer and . family of Fort Dodge visited in the home of Mr. Blumer's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Delaine Blumer. Guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Delaine Blumer Sunday to help Tracey celebrate her 5th birthday were her grandmother, Mrs. Robert Blumer, and aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moeding, Jr. and Harriet, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blumer, David and Jackie of Eagle Grove. Mrs. Earl Johns went to Iowa City Sunday to visit her sister, Mrs. Edna Bowman, who is a patient at University of Iowa hospital. Susan Hoft Is Married To Algona Man Susan Mary Hoft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman N. Hoft, Fort Dodge, and Bernard Lee Goecke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Goecke, Algona, were united in marriage at the Corpus Christi church, Ft. Dodge, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a. m. with Msgr. McEvoy officiating. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white peau de sole, empire style, featuring long buttoned sleeves and a full train with a mantia veil and carried a bouquet of white roses. Lynne Hoft, sister of the bride, and a student at Briar Cliff College, Sioux City, served as maid of honor. Vincent Goecke, brother of the groom, was best man. Tim Hoft and Howard Frideres served as ushers. Gary Peterson, vocalist, was accompanied at the organ by Paul Wagner. A breakfast was served at the Corpus Christi parish center following the ceremony. The bride was a student at Ft. Dodge Community College and also employed at Mercy hospital and Penney's. The groom is a student at Mankato State College, Mankato, Minn, where the young couple will be living. Brones visited at the William Buhmann home at Emmons, Minn. Sunday. Mrs. Buhmann is the daughter of Jay Brones. Three members of the VFW Auxiliary met at the post home Monday Nov. 6 for hospital work. They tore carpet rags to be sent to a Veteran's Hospital to be made into rag rugs. Present were hospital chairman, Mrs. Robert Holm, Mrs. Carlos Engelby, and Auxiliary president, Mrs. Ed Blair. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith entertained Sunday for the 7th birthday of their daughter, Kristi. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Art Doocy and Linda, Owatonna, Minn.; Mrs. Donald Johnson ami children, Mrs. Olga Schwartz, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schwartz and Janice.
