12-Algona, (la.) Upper DCS Moines Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1967 AROUND ALGONA By RUTH SH1ERK MR. AND MRS. Charles Stevenson and son Douglas, Minneapolis, will arrive today (Wednesday) to spend Thanksgiving with his mother, Mrs. Olive Herbst. They will join Mr. and Mrs. Ted Herbst and family for dinner Thanksgiving Day. JIM PETERSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Peterson and a student at Ames, arrived last Tuesday to spend his quarter- break with his family. Mary Peterson, junior student at the University of Minnesota, will arrive Wednesday for the Thanksgiving weekend. It is not yet known if Karin will be released from the hospital to join her family. She is reported to be making good progress, following a car accident last week. MR. AND MRS Don Hernming- sen and her mother, Mrs. S. A. Slater, left Wednesday and spent until Sunday in Chicago. MIKE BOEKELMAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Boekelman and a sophomore at Ames, arrived Friday arid will remain until Tuesday, visiting his family during his quarter break. MR. AND MRS. Robert Wells were visited over the past weekend by the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Weyand of Faulkton, South Dakota, and Mrs. Wells' sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Lapp and (laugher Wanda, Perry. MR. AND MRS. Brady Rovnand their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hum, spent last weekend in Minneapolis with their other daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Shierk. VICKI STEIL, student at Ames, accompanied Barbara Kuchen- reuthei to Algorui last weekend and visited her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. liouis Reding. RUSSELL MEDIN, president of tlit- Algona school board and res- ident of Whittemore, spent a short time in his office there Monday, the first time since his recent surgery at Rochester, Minn. Thanksgiving dinner guests will be his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Medin. Their daughter, Barbara, a student at Ames, arrived Thursday to spend part of her quarter-break with her parents and will be with her family for Thanksgiving Day, as will her sister, Jacquelyn, who teaches at Cherokee. Also expected is the son and wife and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Medin, Dysart. MICHELE CASSEL, student at St. Teresa's College at Winona,Minn., and her sister, Connie, student at .Creighton University at Omaha, will arrive Wednesday and will spend the Thanksgiving weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cassel. DINNER GUESTS of Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Hayes Saturday evening were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hayes, Mason City. Orcjsioti was the fifth birthday "i F-.ilh Hau-'s. MRS.
