The new plant located at 408 West Fourth South street is the latest thing in construction and cost approximately $63000 has a floor space 0M8OOO square feet and will be devoted exclusively to the sale and' service of International motor trucks according to A Michels manager of the Salt Lake City branch The increased use of motor trucks In the Intermountain territory has necessitated the expansion program of which the new plant is a part Mr Michels said -The International Harvester company first started with a business location in Salt Lake City 27 years ago and in the intervening yekrs has followed the progress that has existed in the intermountain territory until at the present time there are approximately 100 people employed in the Salt Lake City branch In celebration of the opening of Its new plant an open house party wilt be held Tuesday to which the public is invited The building will he open for inspection at 8 a and will remain open during the day Until 8 Visitors will be served refreshments Children Entertained Order of Ilarudari The annual Christmas party of the Salt Lake City lodge of the Order of Harudari was held Saturday night in the old Eagles hall at Second South and West Temple streets During the evening the children were presented with stockings filled with nuts candy and toys A country store was a feature of the entertainment and prizes were given widespread use of typewriters in governmental offices County Treasurer RT Jarvis Indicated Saturday To remedy thla situation at least ao far aa i the county recorder's office is concerned Mr Jarvis chairman of the legislative committee of the Utah Stats Association of County Officials reported the state legislature will be asked to amend existing statutes of that nature Nothing but a pencil may be used to copy from the books under the present laws explained Mr Jarvis Use of typewriters or pens Is forbidden Tedious Task To attorneys' abstractors and othera who occasionally seek information from county records a long tedious job 'Copying with a pencil But laws are laws and until they're chsmged such must be the case according to Mr Jarvis The legislature will be asked to alter the law so
