Long Dresel 50, Clearwater, FL, formerly of Southport, passed away Friday, February 20 at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater after a long illness. She was a member of The Harvest Temple Church in Largo, FL. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Richard A. and Margaret Long of Plainfield; sister, Glenna Reed; niece, Kimberly Todd; great nephew, Bryson Todd all of Germantown, TN; a very special friend, Dan Vitkus of Clearwater, FL.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Miller McComb Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Feb. 26 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plain-field where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 25.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Leslie E. Estes, Sr. geles in 1934 and ended up accompanying a female impersonator, Rae Bourbon.

He moved to New York after teaming with Elizabeth Talbot-Martin, a comedian and impersonator who was booked at the Rainbow Room in 1937. Mabel Mercer, whom he met in 1938, was the first to sing one of his songs in New York You Leave After spending four years (1941-45) as a musician in the Army, he got a job playing piano at Spivy's Roof, a New York cabaret, until Mercer hired him away to accompany her at Tony's West Side. The success of "Fly Me to the Moon" made him so materially comfortable that he slowed down as a songwriter. In the late '80s and the '90s, he played a few cabaret stints and concerts. Howard, whose songwriting idol was always Cole Porter, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999.

Ray L. Castetter 73, Noblesville, passed away February 22, 2004 at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville. Born April 27, 1930 in Noblesville, he was the son of the late Lee Castetter and Daisy (Jacobs) Castetter. He worked for General Motors in skilled trades for 29 years, retiring in 1994. Mr.

Castetter attended Noblesville First Church of God and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at Randall Roberts Funeral Home, Noblesville, with Rev. William B.

Briley officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial in Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Russell Robert Castetter and sisters, Mary Thomas Helen Hancock.

Long, 50 Sparks, Jesse 79 The New York Times Bart Howard, the composer of "Fly Me to the Moon" and of cabaret songs recorded by Mabel Mercer, Johnny Mathis and many others, died on Saturday in Car-mel, N.Y.

He was 88 and lived in North Salem, N.Y. The cause was complications from a stroke, said his companion of 58 years, Thomas Fowler. Howard's signature song, originally titled "In Other Words," was introduced in 1954 by the cabaret singer Felicia Sanders. Its popularity spread after Peggy Lee sang it on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1960, and it became a bona fide hit in a 1962 bossa nova instrumental version by Lee's conductor, Joe Harnell. Born Howard Joseph Gustaf-son in Burlington, Iowa, Howard left home at 16 to be a pianist in a dance band that toured with the Siamese twins Daisy and Violet Hilton.

22, 2004. Born April 23, 1918 in Indianapolis, he was the son of William and Elizabeth (Platte) Apgar, both whom preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army, First Armored Signal Battalion during World War II. David was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for over 50 years and retired after 13 years from the Indianapolis Star and News as an electrician. For over 52 years he was instrumental in organizing and planning the annual First Armored Signal Battalion Army reunion.

He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 5864 in Greenwood and he was also a member of the American Legion Post 70, Shelbyville. David was also a member of Evergreen Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. in 1939 and attended IU, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. After college she was a secretary at Riley Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she was a lay Eucharistic minister and a member of the Grandmothers Club. Dede was an active bridge player and a volunteer at Crossroads Rehabilitation Center.

She was the widow of Robert S. Cash, to whom she was married for 54 years. He was a 1949 graduate of Wabash College. Mr. Duke proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII. His memberships included the Scottish Rite, Calvin W.

Prather Lodge 717 Swiss Internees Association, American Legion Kenning-ton Post 2004, Producers Council, of which he was president from 1971-1972, Carmel Police Dept. Citizens Academy and Sr. Citizen Volunteer, Mohawk Hills Mens Golf Club, Mohawk Hills Sr. Golf Club, and Woodland Country Club, of which he served as president for each. He also served in the Lenox Trace Crime Watch program.

Basil was a native of Carmel, where his family still resides. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jean Mitchell Duke; daughter, Barbara Sams Rabus; sons, Gary M. and Kenneth A. Duke, and five grandchildren. Friends may greet the family Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
