Goodrow declined to identify the soldier involved, but the Burlington Free Press was told by a Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman that he is Daniel G. Blodgett, 25, of Milton. The spokeswoman, Ann Davis, said Blodgett was known to the TSA because he was employed at the airport as a TSA screener for two years before leaving the agency for undisclosed reasons in December.

"He was not given any special treatment, nor did he ask for any," Davis said. "I'm told Blodgett was cooperative and apologetic." "The Guard takes this matter very seriously," Lt. Col. Lloyd Goodrow, a Guard spokesman, said Friday in confirming the role of the Guard soldier in the incident.
