OBITUARIES PRESS SUN-BULLETIN 15D SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2014 Potts, Pauline Fiore Nickerson Pauline Fiore Nickerson Potts, 75, has gone to be with her son and the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. She was predeceased by her mother father, Mary (Pasquale) Fiore and son Michael Nickerson. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gumaer, grandchildren, Damion, William, Shelly, Midnight, Twilight Justice, Nicole, Justin, and Jessica. Also survived by sister, Teresa Preston, brothers, Angelo (Carolyn) Fiore, John (Eileen) Fiore, Steven (Madonna) Hurchla, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Shoemaker passed into the arms of his loving Lord on May 24, 2014. Mike had a great strength that allowed him to be gentle, kind, amiable and caring. He loved as we all should love, openly, honestly and unreservedly. Mike touched the lives of many people in ways most of us will never know and for this, he will be greatly missed. Mike is survived by his best friend and Love, Kathy.

He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda Plagg, Sharon Hughes, and Debbie Kobylarz; and brothers, David Shoemaker and Jerry Shoemaker; many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and many loving friends. Mike felt extremely blessed by his extended family: His "sons" Sean, Casey, and Colin White, and William White and Jaxson White, the light of Mike's life. Calling hours will be at First Congregational Church, at the corner of Front and Main St. Binghamton, Wednesday from 5-6PM with a religious service following at 6PM. Cyganovich, William (Bill) Tulsa, OK: William (Bill) Cyganovich of Tulsa, OK, formerly of Candor, NY, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Four days earlier he celebrated his 92nd birthday with his immediate family. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William S. Jean (SehringerNewhouse) Cyganovich of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Diana Cyganovich David Heil of Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren, Pam (Newhouse) Tom Bellinger of Camden, NY, Jennifer (Newhouse) Brian Elwell of Frisco, TX, James Amie Newhouse of McKinney, TX, Julia (Cyganovich) Jeromy Dionne of Broken Arrow, OK, and Brendan Heil of Cleveland, OH; 10 greatgrandchildren; brothers, John Sophie Cyganovich, Union Center, NY and Anthony Cyganovich, Owego, NY; sisters, Mary Tchir, Johnson City, NY, Mildred Wesley Kwiatkowski, Owego, NY, and Cassie Ted Pastalan, Newark Valley, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice (Luszczek); parents, Ignace (James) Sophia (Bork); brother, Ignace; sisters, Francis Miller, Nellie Gerace, and Helen Andrews; and great-granddaughter, Celia Newhouse.

Bill was a longtime businessman and farmer in the Owego, NY area. He also worked for the Tioga Rural Ministries in his retirement. A memorial service, interment, and luncheon will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church in Newark Valley, NY.

(Buchel) Gentile, 96, of Binghamton passed away Friday May 23, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen (Buchel) Hejsek and Gaspar Buchel; husband, Edmondo Gentile; sister McCabe, Joseph P.

Kohut, of Port Dickinson, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of Sunday, May 25, 2014. He was 64. Mr. Kohut is survived by his loving fiancee and longtime companion, Jo-Ann Jensen, also of McCabe, both of Binghamton, 8 grandchildren and the many friends he made at Yesteryears Day Program. Joe was a good man.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Louise Itle. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ron Prebish; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Angulas (Christopher), Kim Garmire (Rick); five grandchildren, Dylan, Garrett and Chelsea Angulas, Keith and Mary Kate Garmire; her sister and brother-in-law, Donna Nosal (Steve); her brother and sister-in-law, Rodney Itle (Lou Ann). She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, and the Southern Tier Track and Field Officials Association. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a talented seamstress and will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held Monday 1 p.m. from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, 1905 Watson Endicott and at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church where a Funeral Mass will be held.

Entombment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club, 201 Erie Owego, NY 13827. Kohut was predeceased by his parents, John and Julie (Wanchisen) Kohut. Mr. Kohut is also survived by the grown children and extended families of Ms. Jensen, and Ryan Hurtt, Mr. Kohut's "right-hand man" on so many projects throughout their friendship.

Mr. Kohut leaves behind his feline pal, the Flame Point Himalayan, Bobby. He is also survived by a sister, Elaine Kohut; an aunt, Theresa Wanchisen; an uncle, Russell Wanchisen; and many cousins. Mr. Kohut also leaves behind many close friends throughout the Southern Tier, where he was a highly respected entrepreneur and business adviser.

Mr. Kohut was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School (Class of 1967), Binghamton University Watson School of Engineering, and Broome Community College. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. Once he returned from the service, Mr. Kohut began to invest in local businesses, initially purchasing multiple-unit apartment complexes and single-family homes, and eventually several automotive service stations.

He was also a classic car aficionado "back in the day," and could be seen working on and cruising in his 1963 Corvette and later, his big-block Chevelle. He tinkered and taught himself through trial and error because, if he was going to have a muscle car, it was going to be "dialed in," as he would say. Mr. Kohut's business interests also included stock investment, and within the last few years, he became certified as an independent broker. In recent years, Mr.

Kohut also founded Empire Books, an online literary clearinghouse, with his dear friend and partner in that venture, Freddie Loveland. These days, Mr. Kohut enjoyed cooking and spending time with extended family, and when time allowed, his newest deep passion, wood-working, oftentimes with his shop mentor Charlie Casella. Mr. Kohut was known to scores of people in more recent years, too, as an experienced voice of advice at the Main Street (Binghamton) AutoZone.

Through all chapters of Mr. Kohut's life, he was the epitome of a "nice guy," respected, admired and loved by all those fortunate enough to have known him. Calling hours for Mr. Kohut will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Monday, June 2, at Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton. A 1 p.m. service will follow at the same venue. After the service, burial will be at Spring Forest Cemetery in the First Ward, where Mr. Kohut will receive military honors.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Kohut would have asked you to enjoy a good sausage-filled lasagna, a nice "sipping drink" in an expensive glass, and to pay forward a gesture of kindness. Z5 and brother-in-law, Ethel and Andrew Hubbell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tony (Josie), Danny, and Billy (Mary) Gentile, Jennie (Jerome) Casey, and Carmella Merithew (Carl) Bronson; and friend, Adam Kress. She is survived by her children, Edward (Susan) Gentile, James (Joyce) Gentile and Joyce (Bill Kane) Conoran; and grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Eastman, Edward (Liz McGowan) Gentile, Cathy (John) Sculley, Theresa (Craig) Virgil, Christopher (Kathie) Gentile, Theresa (Jon) Wehse, Craig Gentile, and Cara (Scott) Stone. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Joan Gentile; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stephanie retired from Mcintosh Labs. She belonged to the Czechoslovak Moravan Club and held the longest membership in the Ladies Sokol Lodge 15W. She enjoyed family gatherings both at her home and away. She was an avid gardener and bowler and traveled extensively with her bowling teams. Stephanie's family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Elizabeth Church Manor for their kind and compassionate care.

Calling hours will be Friday May 30 from 6:00 to at Sedlock Funeral Home 161 Clinton Street, Binghamton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at at the Funeral Home and at 10AM at St. Cyril's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. Cerroni, Mario Joseph A Formerly Endicott: Mario Joseph Cerroni, a. 81, formerly of Endicott, NY, passed away on April 15, 2014 in his home ittfci in Ft. Worth, TX. He tF is survived by his wife, jrj Marilyn Fay Cerroni, gjgLM his children, Mary Ellen Cerroni (Armando Lopez de Victoria) of Farmington, NM, Richard M. Cerroni (Sharon Ngao) of Haslet, TX, and Margaret A.

Cerroni Fade (Charles) of Ft Worth, TX. He is pre -deceased by his brother, Alexander Cerroni, sister Antoinette Benedetti and sister-inlaw Rebecca Carnright (Gene). He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in-law Nancy Squire, Harold Squire (Mina Austin), Charles Squire (Elaine), Allan Squire (Kitty), special family members Cheryl Squire and Susan Cerroni, his beloved grandchildren, Melissa (T.J.) Mitchell, Maria, Benjamin (Sydney Sarah and Grace as well as his great-grandchildren, Noah, Walter, and Jamison. Mario is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mario was born in Saranac Lake, NY January 1, 1933 the son of P.

Michelangelo (Mike) and Sabina (Sarah) Cerroni and was raised in Endicott, NY. He graduated from Union Endicott High School and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a medic. He married Marilyn Squire in 1958. He graduated from Ithaca College in 1958 with a degree in music education and is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He went on to obtain his master's degree in music education at Ithaca College.

He was a music teacher in the Maine-Endwell School District where he taught choral music. He was especially proud of his Madrigal group. Early in his career he was the choir director at St. Anthony of Padua church in Endicott and musical director of the St. Anthony's Players.

As an area jazz musician he performed in various ensembles on piano, bass and mandolin. During his career he performed with many notable musicians and conducted workshops for NYSMA, and Binghamton University. He was a member of the Local Musician's Union No. 380. Mario made many recordings of his favorite music for his family and friends.

He and his family moved to the Dallas Ft Worth area of Texas in 1981. He worked for Security companies for many years before he retired in 2000. Mario had many hobbies including ham radio (WB2FLM), Radio Controlled Airplanes, building rockets and enjoyed wood crafts. He loved watching musicals and reading biographies of other musicians. He loved to dance.

Most of his friends and family will remember the many sing-a-longs he had during family parties. Mario's care is entrusted to DeMarco Cremations and Funerals 1605-1607 Witherill Street Endicott NY. A mass celebrating Mario's life will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Endicott, NY on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11a.m. followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
