NANCY CARNAHAN Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the scores of holiday television movies and Hollywood classics that grace the screen this time each year. We all have our own favorites those movies we eagerly await as the holidays roll around; perhaps movies we saw as children many Christmases ago that have remained dear to our hearts and which we'd like our children to Holiday film classics part of the season How about the MGM version of "A Christmas Carol" with Reginald Owen or Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "It's a Wonderful Life," "Miracle on 34th The Daily Chronicle asked six people the question What's your favorite Christmas movie? Selma Petrie, DeKalbi "It's a Wonderful Life." It's a happy and uplifting movie.

I'll probably watch it a couple of times. Jay Michaelis, Sycamore: "Miracle on 34th Street." I liked it because it expressed the hopes you associate with Christmas. Nancy Carnahan, DeKalb: Last night we watched "White Christmas" and taped it. I just like the nostalgia, and yes, I like Bing Crosby. Jenny Seldal, DeKalb: "It's a Wonderful Life." It has a moral to it and I like Jimmy Stewart.

It had a good message: to respect your own life. Mary Holm, DeKalb: "Miracle on 34th Street," of course, and "White Christmas" because of all the music and Bing Crosby. They're good family movies which we need more of. Robert Czapski, DeKalb: "White Christmas." It was on last night (Wednesday). I like Bing Crosby and the song.

42, DeKalb, was driving east on Hillcrest when her car went over a curb, through a fence and struck a house at 408 Laurel Lane. Aldridge was charged with driving too fast for conditions and improper lane usage. Aldridge was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital by the DeKalb Fire Department. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, one sister and one son. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 1:30 p.m.

Mary E. Jenkins Mary E. Jenkins, 80, of Shields, of Harvey, 111., Douglas Shields, of Rockford, Marvin Shields, of Vandalia, Charles Shields, of Fairfax, Va. Lyndel Shields, of Rantoul, Rex Shields, of Hammond, one sister, Geneieve Ayres, of Des Plaines, 27 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, one infant son and one infant daughter.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City, 111. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery in Bluford, 111. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m.

Police observed Coffey driving on North Seventh Street without license plates on her car. Accident One person was injured in an accident Saturday at 2:09 a.m. at Hillcrest and Laurel Lane, DeKalb, police reports indicate.

Mary A. Aldridge, v- -o -v- -v -i OH! GOOD 1 HEAVENS! Mildred "Millie" Egeland Mildred "Millie" Egeland, 79, of DeKalb died Friday, Dec. 11 at Pine Acres Retirement Center, DeKalb. She was born Aug. 10, 1908, in Shabbona, the daughter of Jacob and Karen (Rage) Jacobson.

She married Sigurd Egeland Oct. 23, 1928 in Chicago. She was a night operator at a telephone company in Shabbona for three years prior to her marriage. After her marriage, she worked for 40 years as a switchboard operator for Wilson's Sporting Goods in Chicago. She is survived by two sisters, Alice Holdridge of DeKalb and Clara Challand of Mesa, one sister-in-law Hazel Egeland of Chicago; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14 at the Jacobson funeral home in Shabbona, with the Rev. Lisa E.

Krell of the Grace United Methodist Church in Maple Park officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery in Shabbona. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to the time of the funeral services Monday at 1 1 Robert I. Roser Robert L.

Roser, 33, Genoa, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1987 at his home. He was born Nov. 13, 1954 in Sycamore, son of John and Marilyn (Owerwise) Roser. He married Kathy Paulson on June 23, 1978 in Genoa.

He was self employed at Bob's Rock and Roll, as a disc jockey. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; one daughter Rane Roser, DeKalb; one son John Roser, DeKalb; one step-daughter, Kristen Roser, Genoa; one step son Jason Sowder, Rockford; two brothers, John Roser, Genoa; and David Hampshire; two sisters, Kathy Keef, Hampshire; Mary Loomis, Kingston; his mother, Genoa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday Dec. 14, 1987 at Cooper-Sullivan Funeral Home, Genoa.

Willv Stewart taken to KCH. 9:27 p.m. Ambulance County Saturday DUI, Speeding Eliazar Cano, Sycamore, was L. He was born Aug. 7, 1907, in Mahnomen, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Church) Lawrence.

He married Evelyn Myers of Cortland on Nov. 17, 1927, at the Federated Church in Sycamore. He was employed at Ananconda Wire and Cable Co. in Sycamore for 40 years and shortly after retirement, he moved to Holiday, Fla. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Holiday, a son Donald (Gladys) Lawrence, of Illinois; a brother, Clarence Lawrence, and a sister, Ethel Bergeron, both of DeKalb, and a sister, Florence Williams, of Moline, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Padgett Funeral Home of Holiday, Fla. Jennie Morgan Jennie Morgan, 72, DeKalb, died Friday Dec. 11, 1987, at the DeKalb County Nursing Home. She was born January 13, 1915, in DeKalb.

She is the daughter of Roger and Joka Komadina. She married Harold E. Morgan Feb. 27, 1943, in St. Louis.

She was formerly employed at Nehring Electrical Works in DeKalb. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (William) Harild. of Joliet; Barbara Joanne Coursey, of Gentry, the DeKalb County Nursing Home, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1987, at the nursing home. She was born Nov.

24, 1907, in White Ash, 111., the daughter of Albert and Maude (Goddard) Mace. She married Raleigh Shields and later married Charles Jenkins. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Bluford, 111., and a member of the Senior Citizens Club at Golden Years Plaza in DeKalb.
