Upper De$ Moines Tuesday, Aug. 115, 1967 Mr. and Mrs. Len Arndorfer and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Doughan spent Monday August 7 in Cedar Rapids with the Arndorfer's daughter, Sister Ann Mary, and their son Dan, and with the Doughan daughters, Sister Kevin and Sister Damian. John Arndorfer, a resident at the Good Samaritan Home in Algona, was a guest in the home of his son, Len Arndorfer Thurs- Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Doughan were guests in the home of their daughter, the Jim Walmsleys in Webster City August 6. day in honor of his 88th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Len Arndorfer were Sunday evening August 6 guests in the Gene Hood home in Algona. Mrs. Bernice Vitzthum entertained her auction bridge club Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Mary Rockwood, Mrs. Felice Hilbert and Mrs. Minnie Bleich were guests. A baby boy was born August 6 to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lappe at Mercy Hospital, Mason City. He has been named Dale Joseph and he has two sisters and one brother. Safety Awards The State Safety Education Division announced today that two persons will be awarded the State Certificate of Valor and ten persons will be awarded the State Life Saving Award on State Day at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. Governor Harold E. Hughes will present the awards Aug. 22 at 1:15 p. m. Recommendations for life saving awards can be made by any citizen, and must be made In writing to the office of the Governor or to the Iowa Department of Public Safety. ROBIN A neighborhood In Hudson recently spotted a baby robin that was an albino. The young bird was all white with pink eyes.
