TWO THE TIMES Hometown of BrootaWw Texas Thursday, November 17, 1966: Local UDC Ladies Are Guest Of President Johnson Thursday evening, November the third the U.D.C. met in the home of Mrs. L. E. Hill at Hempstead with Miss Jimmie Rene Ogg as co- hostess.

The roll call response was "Who is a good citizen?" Many interesting and informative answers were given. Following the regular business meeting conducted by Miss Ogg Chapter President, Mrs. E. E. Rapsilver gave a detailed report of the State U.D.C.

Convention in Austin, and the bus trip through the L. B. J. country. Those attending as delegates were Mrs.

G. L. Bullcr. Mrs. J.

F. Lang. Mrs. Lee Gregory. Also attending were Mr.

and Mrs. E. E. Rapsilver. The highlight of the i p.

was that the U.D.C. embers were guests of President and Mrs. Johnson, visiting his childhood home and seeing the Texas White House. A message fiv.ni President and Mrs. John- son was read by each hostess on the three bus loads of United Daughters making the trip.

After the return to Austin, they enjoyed a delicious luncheon in the home of Miss Mildred Webb, daughter of the late Dr. Prescott Webb, teacher and historian for thirty years in the University of Texas. Mrs. Hill and Miss Ogg served refreshments ac the close of the meeting. The dining table was beautifully decora ted.

Spiced tea was served from a silver punch bowl in silver cups. Refreshments were a varied assortment and too numerous to mention. There were eleven members and one visitor present. The December meeting will be held in the homo of Mrs. G.

L. Buller with Mrs. J. F. Lang co-hostess.

Members are to bring one dollar each to be sent to a veterans hospital. Daughter, Beverly gave, birth to a son, named Ty Les, on September 19th, weighing 4 Ibs, 10 ozs. Proud father is Harvey Etheredge. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Etheredge.

Mr. and Mrs. A. A. (Butch) Polan of Tomball are the proud parents of a son, Michel John, born November 7, 1966 weighing 6 Ibs, 7 ozs.

They have a son, Troy, the first grandchild of the A. E. Polan's. Other grandparents are Mrs. Velma Norwood of Houston and Bridges Hosford of Magnolia, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Dziadek are the proud parents of a girl born October 29. She weighed 7 Ibs. 12 ozs and her name is Janette Lynn.

To welcome her home are 2 sisters Darlene and Carolyn, 2 brothers Rickey and David. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Eugene Burns announce the arrival of a 9 Ib. 12 oz.

Touchdowns were made by Alfred Gonzales, Arthur LaCombe, and Michael Mayberry, who had 2 to his credit. The team has had a fine season, being the winners of their district in addition to being undefeated.

Eighth grade players who will be moving up to high school next year are Richard Bohannon, Pedro Cantu, Robert England, Alexander Foster, Bob Garrett, Alfred Goii- zales, Arthur LaCombe, Wayne McDonald, Don Maler, Duane Martin, Michael Mayberry, Conrad Neelley, John Phillips, John Streckfuss, Carlos Sturm and Danny Young. The Junior High Cheerleaders honored the team and their classmates in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades with a party Saturday evening in the Methodist Fellowship Hall. The cheerleaders are: Vickie Rheman, head cheerleader; Janet Bains, Sue Halbison, Ramona Hodges, Rebecca Greening and Kay Boren. Chaperones for the evening were Mr. and Mrs.

Bill Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sparks, Mrs. Stanley Rheman, Mrs. John Greening and Mrs.

W. D. Bains, Jr. The hall was decorated with red and blue to follow Falcon colors. The refreshment table was centered with an arrangement of red and white carnations flanked by red candles.

Punch, sandwiches, cookies, chips and dips were served. On the wall behind the table were ments, one for each player, lettered in blue with, an accent of red glitter. The ladies chose the Fellowship Hall of the First Methodist Church a setting. The v- shaped banquet table resplendent with lighted tapers filled horns of plenty, Autumn leaves, fruits and figurenes of pilgrams and farmers. Guests served themselves from a festive Thanksgiving buffet of turkey and trimmings, cake, ambrosia, and coffee. Following the meal Mrs. W.

Ed Dozier of Fulshear were out-of- town guests. Loretta Chollett i Floyd Hall were married this Saturday evening in the First Methodist Church of Freeport with the Rev. Robert Langham officiating. Mr. and Mrs.

W. J. Prude of Freeport are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Mrs. Edrie Hall of Katy.

The bride wore a blue knit suit and carried a bouquet of white carnations centered with a lift- out corsage. Attendants were Mrs. Guynell Nichols and Lloyd Hall, twin brother of the groom. The family of the groom attending the wedding included Dolly Hall, wife of Lloyd Hall, of West Columbia, Mr. and Mrs.

C. D. Ross and Mr. and Mrs. Elkins of Houston, Mr, and Mrs.

P. Peek and Steve. James Lester and Ray. Lester and Vivian Batson and Rhonda Bishop, all of Katy. A small reception was held at the church following the ceremony.
