W. C. Stockdick of Katy, was married to Albert Thompson in a ceremony which took place at 8:00 p. m. Wednesday at the Katy Methodist church, with Rev.

J. E. McGaughy officiating in the presence of a large group of friends of the couple. A bank of ferns againse the altar formed a background for floor baskets of gladiolas in pastel shades. Mrs.

Geo. Vaughan and Mrs. Sam Poorman, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. A. R.

McHaney, sang "Because" and Mrs. L. E. Morrison and Mis. T.

B. Tucker, with Mrs. A. P. Smith as accompanist sang "I Love You Truly," and the wedding march from Lohengrin was played for the entry of the bridal party.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin, made cowl neck and shirred yoke. The sieves were long and full, and her veil of illusion, held to her head by a cap of the tulle, extended over the long train of the gown. She carried a shower boquet of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. The bride was attended by Miss Fabiola Stockdick, Mrs. Lester 4 Williams and "Mrs.

Alvis Evans, and the flower girls were little Misses Romona Stockdick and Margaret Thompson. The attendants wore dresses of pastel shades and carried pink gladioli. Olen Thompson attended the bridegroom as best man and Leslie Thompson and W. C. Stockdick were groomsmen.

Cecil Cott and Alan Justman served as ushers. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents where the lace-laid table holding the bridal cake was presided over by Mrs. J. D. Woods.

Mrs. Morrison served punch and Mrs. Charles Rose, Mrs. Carl Scrlipf and Mrs. Vivian Avera, the confections.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson will be at home in Katy following a trip to points over the state. Mr. and Mrs.

Max Wander of Brookshire attended a barbecue at Katy last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. R. Robertson, and Miss Bessie and Rita Mae motored to Houston Sunday evening to see Perry Robertson who is in Herman hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Alexander and son, Demond, and Chas.

Cardiff spent several days last week at Kerrville. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beckendorff and son are visiting relatives in Katy. Perry Robertson was rushed to Herman hospital in Houston last Friday for an appendicitis operation.

Reports are that he is doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Evans and children of Houston spent last week with Olen Thompson and family. Mr.

and Mrs. Albert Thompson ate Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Wilkinson and family. A large crowd attended the barbecue given by the Home Demonstration ladies and the 4-H Club girls last Friday even- ing at the school house.
