Venterpiece One ol the bright spots mid way through a drab winter is the youthful red, white and lace paper touch of St Valentine's Pay. It's a fitting and favorite occasion for a party especially for the we-teen or! young teen ager who is charmed with the old-fashioned romance sur rounding the exchange of pret ty valentines. It has been remarked that the difference between a "par ty and a get-together is often no more trouble than fixing up a pretty table and taking extra with 'refreshments. Entertainment varies between movies, ice-skating, sledding and a i depending on the weather and the time of day.

But putting the label on the affair does impress to a certain extent a daughter's role as hostess and the "gang" with their social responsibility as guests. I To dress a Valentine's table, choose a center piece: your daughter herself coujd ma Such a one might make use cardboard, red paper, lace doi lies and chocolate kisses. Use round hat box for the base, trimmed down to four-inch height and covered with red crepe-paper or red shelf paper. Turn upside down and cover top with more red paper, ta in place for the sake of and smoothness. Festoon sides with scallops i cut from lace doilies.

Then tape foil- covered kisses to the sides. Cut a hole in. the center' of the top. A cardboard tube (from a wax-paper roll) wrap- ped in red paper can be pushed Into the base. Top the tube with a small square box! On the sides, tape an ace, king, queen and jack of hearts from an old deck of playing cards and finish off the top with a crown cut from a scrap Mrs!
