Johnson The azcentral.com Conference realignments in Arizona high school football shouldn't affect most of the marquee games on Chandler teams' schedules. Rather than the usual regional groupings that fans had grown accustomed to, teams have computer-generated schedules that place a higher emphasis on geography. Those new schedules preserve many of the matchups that players and fans have long looked forward to and even create a few new games worth marking on the calendar. The big games start the first week as the 'three-time defending state champion Hamilton Huskies host Mountain Pointe of Ahwatukee.

The game is a repeat of last season's Class 5A state semifinal in which Hamilton beat Mountain Pointe 34-10. Hamilton will be going for its 41st consecutive win. At Chandler High School the Wolves open the season by hosting Yuma Kofa in a game, that marks the debut of Shaun Aguano as the team's head coach. Aguano, who previously served as the team's offensive coordinator, takes over for retired coach Jim Ewan. The game that will really get the city buzzing takes place Sept.

30 when Chandler hosts Hamilton. The Huskies have dominated the series between the two rivals with wins in the past 14 games. The realignment will give Basha a chance to face the other Chandler schools during the regular season. Usually the Bears would have to wait until the state playoffs began to get a shot at Chandler or Hamilton. This season Chandler travels to Basha on Sept.

15 and the Bears get their chance to take on Hamilton when it hosts the Huskies on Oct. 20. Basha hosts Tempe Corona del Sol in the season opener tonight and takes on another rival on Oct. 14 at Perry. Perry, which was also a playoff team last season, opens the season tonight against Casa Grande.

The Pumas get their shot at Tempe Marcos de Niza (the team that ended last year's playoff run) on Sept. 16. Seton Catholic tries to follow up on last year's playoff appearance when it opens the season at Fountain Hills, another playoff team last season. The Sentinels will have a chance to face Chandler's other private school football team when it hosts Valley Christian on Oct. 14.

Valley Christian renews its rivalry with Scottsdale Christian on Oct. 21. The Trojans lost to Scottsdale Christian in the first round of the playoffs last season. Chandler Preparatory Academy begins its seven-game schedule tonight when it hosts Pima. San Tan Valley Chamber plans fall I festival The San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to plan its first San Tan Valley Fall Festival Oct.

27-30 on the west side of Gantzel Road between Rogers and Skyline roads. The THE CONCEPT In a release, the chamber called the festival "an amazing opportunity to unite the community and raise much needed funds for our educational system." It anticipates the four-day fest will include carnival games and rides. Admission will be free and area schools will sell day passes for access to all rides as a fundraiser. Schools that want to participate should call 480-626-7757 or e-mail Day passes are also available through the Chamber. As part of the festival, the chamber has scheduled a Business Wellness Expo Oct.

29. SIGNING UP The chamber is looking for volunteers to help out with the festival as well as non-food vendors for the Business Wellness Expo. Call 480-626-7757 for details.
