Aileen Rundle Allen, 95, of Prescott, Arizona, passed into the Hands of the LORD on January 21, 2008 in Prescott, Arizona. Aileen was born May 28, 1912, in Clay County, Kansas, to Albert and Mary Amcoats Rundle.

Aileen was educated in Clay County schools, received her BS Home Economics from Kansas State University in 1933 and her MS Colorado State University in 1941. Aileen moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1939 and met her future husband, Jesse E. Allen. They were married in Clay Center, Kansas on June 12, 1942. He preceded her in death February 22, 1972.

Aileen retired in 1972, after teaching 39 years. Aileen was a member of Sigma Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma and was a charter member of Phoenix Home Economists In Home and Community. Aileen enjoyed the arts, reading, traveling, and watching birds. Aileen loved all her family dearly, and was especially proud of the integrity, strength and independence of her two grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Hughla (Hughie), and son-in-law, Ron Takas of Prescott, Arizona, grandchildren Ryan Takas, of Portland, Oregon, and Erin Takas, of Simi Valley, California.

Also surviving her are nephews and nieces Harvey Martha Benson, Art Frances Benson, Jon Evelyn Larson and numerous great nephews and nieces, along with her many friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008, at 11:00 am at American Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott, Arizona. Private internment will be at a later date. He was born in Glendale, AZ the first of 6 children to Leland Agnes Arthur. was a VETERAN US Navy Radio operator in WWII. He retired from Reynolds Metals then spent many happy years gardening. He is dearly missed by his daughter, Debbie Dujanovic, his grandchildren Jesse Arthur, Adam Danielle Dujanovic great grandchildren Maxwell, Sophia Sage Arthur Makena McBride the love of his life Louise Flayer. He is also survived by his brother Paul in Nevada his cousin Carroll in Phoenix.

Services are private. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley where Ed's final days were filled with compassion and caring his family close by. Bette Ann Bates 79, passed away February 8, 2008. She was born May 2, 1928 to Raymond and Blanche (Quinn) Thyne. Bette is survived by her HERITAGE children Jean Bates, Cheryl Zilkie, Marta Shugart, Richard Abby, and Glenn Abby; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 24, 1938, he served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and I was a Vietnam War veteran.

He moved to Glendale in 1977 and thereafter started W. Bennett, 70, of passed away on shortly a career in real estate. He re- VETERAN tired in 2000 as the owner of Desert Realty. (Chuck) Brady, 87, beloved husband of Ann, passed away with dignity on February 6, Chuck, born in Pasadena, CA, was a leading Dignity member of the Sun Lakes Rock, Gem Silver Club for many years. Claudette selflessly cared for her family and served her community by enriching the lives of many. She dedicated her life to supporting, encouraging and helping others achieve their goals. She was always the first to help but was masterful at being behind-the-scenes, never wanting recognition for her efforts. The heavens are lucky to welcome Claudette home, but she will be greatly missed.

Memorial services will begin with a viewing on Sunday, February 10th from at Bunker's University Chapel, 3529 E. University Drive, Mesa (480) 830-4105. Claudette was born on May 6, 1947, in Snow- (Hospice), 2645 E. 85282, in Chuck's away at home on Brimhall, 60, of Dorothy M. Carras, 89 of Sun City, loving mother, Grandmother and Great- grandmother peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2008. She was born in Chicago, IL. on December 12, 1918 to Richard and Mildred Corbett.

Her parents, brother Richard and sister Mildred preceded her in death. (ent Dorothy married her high HERITAGE school sweetheart, Paul James Carras Sr. in 1941 and enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 1993. Dorothy and Paul moved their family to Phoenix in 1957 where she worked for the State Real Estate Department from 1970 until her retirement in 1985. After her retirement Dorothy and Paul enjoyed traveling to Greece, Hawaii and Mexico.

Dorothy also loved reading history novels and gardening, she was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and children. She is survived by: Children, Paul Jr. Kathleen (John), Richard (Rhonda). Grandchildren, Lisa (Mark), Matthew (Jenn), Joe (Amanda), David, Chris, Derek (Valerie), Baine, Christie (Jeff), Zachary (Amy), Great-grandchildren, Tyler, Suzanne, Hayden, Lily, Ariana and Kallista. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ. HERITAGE Helen E. Clark, 87, of Scottsdale, passed away on Monday, February 4, holding her daughter's hand. Georgia, Born Helen in came Savannah, to Arizona in 1959. She worked for almost twenty years as an ASU records clerk in the days before computers, and was known for her smile and kindness to frantic students.

A loving wife and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hail, and son, Skip. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Anne, sisters, Anne M. Blitch and Leila M. Bravo, and many nieces and nephews. Helen enjoyed sewing, caring for her family, and had a knack for finding anything lost.

She was a charter member of Bethany Lutheran Church, 4300 N. 82nd Street, Scottsdale, where her memorial service will be held on February 16, at 3:00 PM. Contributions to: Bethany or Hospice of the Valley. John R. Connelly, 75 of Mesa, AZ, passed away February 4, 2008 at home.

He was born on July 11, 1932 in Charleston, WV. A veteran of the Ko- VETERAN rean War, John retired from the United States Air Force in 1973 after 24 years of dedicated service. He was also retired from the City of Mesa Streets Department. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed reading and traveling. He is survived by Linda, his loving wife of 47 years; daughter Kimberly Hammer (Joe) of Queen Creek, AZ; son John "JR" Connelly (Rebecca) of Show Low, AZ; grandson Dalton Connelly, of Scottsdale, AZ; brother Edward Connelly of Altus, OK: five sisters, Donna Connelly, Shirley Hayton and Helen Townson of Huntington, WV; Betty Frye and Linda Mills, of Lakeland FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dena Connelly, sister Sandra Finley, and infant grandson Gunnar Hammer. Private services will be held at the National Memorial Cemetary in Phoenix. Christoval "Mike" Santiago Contreras, was born July 25, 1923, died at age of 84 on February 6, 2008.

Christoval was born in Los Angeles California, he spent most of his years in Phoenix Arizona, attended Phoenix Union High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Trinidad and brother Robert N. Contreras. He loved to work with remote control airplanes and go out to the flying field and fly them. He was offered a job at Hobby Bench by two wonderful people Lee and Betty. They welcomed his knowledge and he worked for many years doing what he loved best, helping others learn how to build and fly their planes. He had made wonderful friends where ever he went and Annette Reese became a very close friend to him through hobby bench. His spirit and love for life will live on through each of us that were blessed enough to have him in our life.

In loving memory from all his children we mourn our loss, and celebrate his eternal life where he now may rest in peace. Amen. Rodney Earl Engelen died on February 8, 2008 at 80 years of age, after suffering a stroke. Rodney Earl Goehring was born September 5, 1927 to Anita Goering and Clarence Wiedeman in Parkston, South Dakota. Upon his mother's marriage to Horace Engelen his name was changed to that of his adopted father. Subsequent to his mother's death in 1932, he was raised by his grandparents, Gus and Adeline Radke in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. Rod served in the US Army in a non-combat role in the Pacific.

He studied architecture at the University of Minnesota and urban and regional planning at Harvard University, graduating in 1953. His professional life was dedicated to the policies and issues of urban function, processes and the conceptual and physical aspects of planning and redevelopment. Over a period of 40 years, he worked for numerous public agencies in both staff and consulting roles. He worked extensively in the upper Midwest, including City of St Paul downtown redevelopment plans, development of the first central area plan for the City of Minneapolis, major work for the City of Chicago, various Federal Agencies and more than 75 cities throughout the US and Canada. Rod also worked as an advisor to the City of Phoenix, with responsibility for downtown and urban corridors.

In 1951 Rod married Audrey Hope Naas and together they raised three children in Evanston, Illinois. Rod's wife Audrey died in 1998 in Phoenix. In 1999 Rod married Cynthia Lewis Sawyer and relocated back to the Chicago area. Rod traveled widely and continued to enjoy photography, politics, reading and his computer throughout his retirement. He was an active supporter of Boy Scouting, the American Civil Liberty Union, the Unitarian Church and numerous liberal political campaigns and causes.

His was a rich world of long time colleagues and friends, shared ideas and warm communications. He was a generous, caring man who truly lived his ideals of life-long learning, social and personal responsibility for bettering our world. Rod is survived by wife Cynthia, children Derek (Jan), Peter, and Heidi (Rick), grandchildren Rachel, Kurt, Erin, Leigh, Jeffrey, and many dear friends. A memorial service in celebration of Rod's life is scheduled for Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix on Lincoln Drive at 10:00 am. No flowers are requested.

Memorial Contributions in Rod's name may be made to the UU Foundation of Phoenix or Hospice of the Valley. Maude "Mickey" Fleck, 90, of Phoenix passed away on January 23, 2008. She was born in Pennsylvania on April 16, 1917. She is survived by her three children, Charles (Gail) Fleck, Jacqueline McKenna and Linda (Larmon) Haugen. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Pam (Lew), Wendy, Heidi (Craig), Scott (Cassie), Kirk (Carmen), Lori (Dan) and Jill and eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mickey is also survived by nephews Denny, David and Rory and nieces Peggy Jo and Colleen. The last few months of her life were spent at the Beatitudes Skilled Nursing Facility and the family would like to thank the nurses and staff for the compassionate care she received there. Mickey lived for her family and always enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren. Per her request there will public services. A private "Celebration of Life" was held by the family.

Gaeraths, 78, loving husband, father, "Opa," brother and uncle passed away on February 7, 2008. Frans is survived by his wife Stella, sons Andrew (Mary), Eduard (Joy), daughter Marsha (Bill) and grandchildren Geoffrey and Caroline as well as ers, many sisters, loving extended fam- Dignity other brothily and friends. Frans was born on December 19, 1929 in Tjiwedej Bandung, Indonesia.

He immigrated to The Netherlands in 1957 and married Stella Stook on December 17, 1960 in Den Haag, Netherlands. In 1962 they immigrated to the United States following his brother Hans to Phoenix, Arizona and raising a family. He was later joined by his brother Edmond where the three brothers lived near and supported each other for the next several decades. Frans worked as a gifted and talented machinist for twenty-eight years where he was known for his attention to detail and craftsmanship. Frans will always be remembered for his quiet, gentle spirit, kind heart and his love for his family.

He had a closeness and devotion to his brothers and sisters, even when thousands of miles separated them for years at a time. He adored his two grandchildren and their "Opa" will truly be missed. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. with a celebration of Frans's life immediately following at 6:00 p.m. at A.L.

Charles Edward Gerg, 88, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on Feb. 7, 2008. Charles served in the Marine Corp in WWII and then worked for 44 years for the Kimberly Clark Corp. He is survived by his bride of 62 years, Mildred Gerg.

Robert S. Graflund, 69, a Scottsdale, AZ resident, retired teacher and math publications author, passed away February 5, 2008 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born in Chicago, IL, was a graduate of Northern Illinois University and taught for 38 years at Edison Middle School in Wheaton-Warrenville, mathematics IL School District Family Owned Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann, of Scottsdale, daughter Kathleen Marie (Todd) Coles of Vienna, VA, son Scott Robert (Adriana) Graflund of Long Grove, IL, sister Geraldine (the late Harry) Guess of Fairfax Station, VA and grandchildren Zoe Marie and Connor Robert Graflund and Allisa Taylor and Anna Elise Coles. A visitation will take place from 6 PM to 8 PM Wed. Feb 13th with a 7 PM Rosary service at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E.

Indian School Scottsdale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Thur. Feb. 14th at Our Lady of the Angels at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Scottsdale.

Interment will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley Sherman Home, 5801 E. Mayo Phoenix, AZ 85054. William Greves, 73, of El Mirage, passed away on February 7, 2008. Service has been held.

Best Funeral Services Chapel Peoria, Az. Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Gust, 88, passed away on February 8, 2008. Betty was born in 1919 in Bedford, Indiana. She moved to Phoenix at the age of 6, where her father, Emory W. Montgomery, became Superintendent of the Phoenix Union High School District and President of Phoenix in of Phoenix College.

After graduating from Phoenix College and Stanford University, Betty married Devens Gust, a Phoenix attorney and rancher, who died in 2006. She and Devens lived in Phoenix ix for many years until moving to the family ranch in Mule Creek, New Mexico. She is survived by sons John Devens Jr. (Elaine) and Morgan (Becky), grandchildren Karen (David) Schollmeyer, Jennifer (Greg) Birrell, John Gust, Tracey (David) Haynie and Zachary Gust, and 3 great-grandchildren. No services will be held.

Arrangements by Messinger Mortuary. Steve Hakala, 89 y.o., Washington, D.C., passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008. He joined Army in 1937, served with the famous Bushmaster Regiment of AZ, served Korea with the 25th Inf. Div. and Vietnam 25th Inf.
