Upper DM Molne« Tuesday, June 6, 1967 Former Algona Girl Graduates At Briar Cliff ALICE GRAMZA Mrs. Alice Gramza graduated from Briar Cliff College, Sioux City, June 1 with a bachelor of arts degree. She majored in speech correction. Alice is the daughter of the Mike Arndorfers of Algona. She completed her studies at Mundelein College in Chicago where the Gramzas make their home. They have one son, Scott. Ottosen Man Badly Cut By Chain Saw OTTOSEN - Richard Kinseth, Ottosen's rural letter carrier, was using a chain saw Saturday afternoon when it kicked back hitting him in the chin and neck. He was treated in the doctors office at Humboldt and over 20 stitches were required to close the wound. He is recuperating at home. - o - CANCER DRIVE The Cancer drive for the town of Ottosen and Wacousta township has been completed. Mrs. Ralph Richards, Ottosen chairman, reports that $44.25 was received. Her workers were Mrs. Percy Watnem, Mrs. Robert J. Le Mont, Mrs. Gerald Hoffman and Mrs. Richard Kinseth. Mrs. Lenhard Holden, Wacousta township chairman, received $96.50 from the rural area. Her helpers were Naomi Struthers, Mrs. Merle Carlson, Mrs. Arnold Brodale, Mrs. Vernon Alexander, Mrs. Victor Meyer and Mrs. Maurice Halsrud. - o - Mr. and Mrs. Mike Frohling and family attended graduation at Gunthrie Center Wednesday night for Henry Merlin Frohling. Mrs. Agnes Tabor of West Bend entertained Monday night in honor of Ersel Anliker's graduation. Those who attended from here were Mr. and Mrs. Allan Wehr- spann and Arlys Ann, Mr. and Mrs. James Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Alme, Mr. and Mrs. Duwayne Benge, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Anliker and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy Worby of Bode. Ersel Anliker was the recipient of the $500 scholarship given by the Palo Alto Co. hospital Auxiliary and she will attend the Iowa Methodist school of nursing in Des Moines. Mrs. Chester Alme attended a shower for her niece, Molly Blanchard at Lone Rock Friday night. Mrs. Gilbert Holden and her daughter, Mrs. Diane Hacker and three children of Minneapolis, have been visiting at the Gilbert Holden and Arne Jotten home and Sunday afternoon the visitors were lunch guests at the Lenhard Holden home Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bakken and family were also Sunday callers. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Johnson and family of Moorland were Sunday night visitors at the Conrad Johnsons. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Halsrud and family were Wednesday night supper guests at the James Jacobson home, Thursday night supper guests at the Duwayne Bcnge tiome and Sunday dinner guests at the Verne Smith home at Bradgate. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Underberg and family of Ft. Dodge were Sunday night visitors at the Louis Jacobsons. Patricia Lynn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Strickland, was baptized by Rev. Robert J. Le- Mont at worship services Sunday morning. Sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wehrspann and Harlan Tofteberg. Dinner guests at the Leo Tofteberg home after baptism were Mrs. Strickland and Patricia, Rev. and Mrs. Robert J. Le Mont, Linda and Mark, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wehrspann and Roger, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hinz, Walter and Henry of LuVerne. Mr. Strickland is in the armed services in Viet Nam. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Olson and daughters attended the Olson family reunion at the Percy Jacobson home at Depew Sunday. The? gathering was in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Pils of Schofield, Wise, who visited in the area for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Frohling and family were Sunday dinner guests at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Tapper, Webster City. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kropf went to the Richard Kropf home at Ruthven Wednesday to stay a few days while Richard went to Veterans Hospital in Des Moines for a check-up. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Selnk and family of Waseca, Minn, were Sunday callers at the Percy Watnems and all attended the 25th anniversary open house for Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Enger at Bode.
