Skow, Wesley, were among 60 Iowa college students Inducted Into the Iowa National Guard after completing the pre-commission officer's candidate class at Camp Dodge. They will be sent to Ft. He Is a tenant and works 440 acres, Including 188 acres of corn, 40 acres of oats, 75 acres of beans and there are 70 acres of pasture. Mr. Bierstedt has been on the farm for 14 years. He has 400 hogs, 100 cattle and 400 chickens- and says working with corn and hogs are his favorite jobs around the place. He Is a member of the Farm Bureau and St. John's Lutheran church, Fenton, and his favorite hobby is fishing. A lifelong resident of Kossuth county, Howard was born July 19, 1928 at Fenton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Bierstedt. He has two sisters In the area, Mrs. Robert Mitchell, Fenton, and Mrs. Joe Kemna, Bancroft. Mrs. Bierstedt is the former Nina Muir, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mulr, Sacramento, Calif.
