for 12 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church. Louise is survived by the passion of her life, her children, Rita Woodruff, Eric (Marilyn) Ellis and Holly (Todd) Gleason; grandchildren, LeAnn (Chris) Brown, Shelley McCurdy, Eric (Sta-cey) Ellis II, Melissa (Mike) Woodson, Kevin (Amanda) Ellis, Kyle (Christy) Gleason, Matthew Gleason, Sherry Barnett, Michael Woodruff and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Ellis, her parents and four brothers.

Services for Louise will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the Cumberland United Methodist Church, 219 N. Muessing with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 21 in Planner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park East and from Noon until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.

She was married to the late Jack Morse for 50 years, and co-owned J.D.Morse Wholesale Co. Marcy was a member of College Park Church and was an avid bird lover. She is survived by her loving children; 3 sons Doug (Barbara), Steven (Terry), Lee (Stephanie) Morse, daughter Diana, (Kenneth) Von Plueren and Brother Robert Eliser. 11 grandchildren, 10 great grand children. Romona F. Ragsdale Smith 99, Carmel, IN, passed away June 20, 2010. Services: 1 PM, June 23 at New Brunswick Church of Christ, 6840 S. S.R. 39, Lebanon, with visitation there from 11 AM until service time.

Arrangements: Myers Mortuary, Lebanon. Interment: Lincoln Memory Gardens, Boone County. Frances Joan Freeland Hayes Welch 76, Indianapolis, Earl Luke Goodman, Jr. glBt Passed away on Fri-f day, June 18, 2010 atthe age of 85. Mr.

V-" Goodman was born 16 April 1925 in Parsons, Kansas, and was raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma. After he graduated high school in 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps where he served in the 1876th Engineers until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1945. Mr. Goodman saw action in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan during WWII.

During his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 Battle Stars, the WWII Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal. In addition, his unit was awarded the Army Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation. After the war, Mr. Goodman returned to Muskogee and on 6 Jun 1948, he married Patricia Williamson. After their marriage, the couple traveled to New York where he trained as an optician for Duffens Optical Company.

The Goodman's then settled in Indianapolis where both had taken a job with the company. Mr. Goodman worked for Duffens Optical for 35 years, retiring in 1985. In addition, Mr. Goodman studied clock repair and worked for many years for several different clock shops in the central Indiana area.

After his retirement from Duffens Optical, he pursued his hobbies of repairing clocks, working in the yard, and tending his beloved cats. Mr. Goodman was a descendant of several Revolutionary War and War of 1812 veterans. His four greatgrandfathers all fought in the Civil War, one of which was a surgeon who was taken prisoner and was later killed. Mr.

Goodman was equally proud of his Cherokee heritage, some of his ancestors having migrated to Arkansas and Oklahoma from the Cherokee Nation during the "Trail of Tears." He often recounted that his mother taught him words in the Cherokee language when he was a boy. Mr. Goodman is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Goodman, and by a daughter, Dr. Julie Goodman Dojahn and her husband, William, of Angleton, Texas; by his sister, Shirley Tegarden and her husband, Charles; and by his brother, Jerry Goodman and his wife Naomi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Mr.

Earl Luke Goodman, Sr. and Mrs. Bessie Cockrell Goodman; by his son, Steven Earl Goodman, and by his brothers Donald and Jimmie. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Little Sons Beech Grove Chapel. Interment will follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker, IN.

He was born August 20, 1933 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Erenst and Bertha (Bouchard) Halle. John was the founder and owner of Halle Inc. for 22 years.

Previously he worked for Enterprise Oil, Inc. in Cambridge, OH and Citizens Gas for 30 years. Memorial services will be at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday, June 29 at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road with visitation from 5:00 P.M. until time of service.

John will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Halle; son, James (Karen) Halle; daughters, Cynthia (Scott) Rauch and Kathy (Mark) Priest; grandchildren, Jessie, James, Amanda, Alex, Nick, Zach and Sara; great-grandchild, Aiden; sister, Claire Cesare and nieces and nephews. George William Lewis George Lewis died on June 18, 2010, after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren in his home. Born April 18, 1927, in New York City, George was one of eleven children.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry E. and Martha P. Lewis and his wife, Josephine. George worked most of his life as a Union laborer in New Jersey. He was a WWJI veteran of the U.S.

Navy and is a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. His greatest joys were his family, friends and spending time in his garden. He was survived by his five daughters: Martha (Michael) May, Joann (Dwight) Nolting, Susan (David) Mason Lori (Craig) Bjornsund and Lily (Nel) Frazier. George was also survived by his grandchildren Olivia Zedrick, April (Dan Fase) Aikin, Eric (Kelley) May, Cari May, Joshua Mason, Christopher (April) Mason, Lisa and Amanda Bjornsund, Matthew and Jordan Couchman. He had six great-grandchildren: Michael Zedrick, Josephine and Isabelle May, Benjamin Fase, Avery Mason and Joseph Couchman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday June 21, 2010 at Conkle Funeral Home Speedway Chapel with visitation from 10:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service. Burial will be at a private service in New Jersey. Donations may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and to The Salvation Army.

She was 61. Mrs. Maue is preceded in death by her father, Chester Sultze and infant daughter, Wendy Ann Maue. She is survived by her loving husband, David Maue; mother, Florence Sultze Greeninger, and family which includes 3 sons and 12 grandchildren.

Charlie Crittendon Belcher 82, Indianapolis, passed away on June 18, 2010. She was the widow of James Critten-l don and Chris Belcher. Born in Livingston, Alabama, she came to Indianapolis at the age of 25. She was employed by RCA, retiring in 1982. In later years she lovingly provided childcare in her home.

She was a member of Little Flock United Primitive Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the Usher and Mother's boards. On Wednesday, June 23, there will be visitation from 10 am -12 pm, with funeral service at 12 pm at Little Flock United Primitive Baptist Church, 927 Traub Street and interment at Crown Hill Cemetery. She is survived by stepsons, Steve Crittendon, Chris Belcher III, and Reginald Belcher and five generations of cousins, nieces and nephews. Grace L. Burgess 82, Greenwood, passed away June 20, 2010. Services: 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 22 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation there from 11:00 A.M. until service time. Douglas Dempsey Much-loved husband, father and grandfather passed away June 19, 2010 peacefully at St.

Vincent's Hospice surrounded by fam- ay. Doug was born in Portland, Oregon on April 19, 1930. He married Irma Gallant in Ketchikan, Alaska on September 16, 1961. Doug and Irma lived in Alaska, Virginia and then they settled in Indianapolis after he retired from a career in the military. He served his country for a year in Vietnam in 1966.

Doug was an avid reader and volunteered for the Marion County Adult Literacy Program, as well as Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed golfing, and spending time with his family-espe-cially his grandchildren. He often wondered if he was the only liberal democrat on the entire north side. Douglas is survived by his wife, Irma H. (Gallant), children Kelly Dempsey, Holly (David) Geeslin, granddaughters Amelia and Morgan Geeslin.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 23rd, from 5-7 PM at Fee-ney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary with a Celebration of Life Service at 7 PM. She was born November 27, 1925 in Nevada, Iowa to Harold and Laura (McBride) Anderson.

She was the oldest of 6 children. On May 25, 1946, Gloria married the love of her life, Donald W. Fink, who survives her. They recently celebrated their 64th anniversary with all six of their children and their spouses. Other survivors include her children, Susan Kuhn (Thomas), D.

Stephen (Janice), Laurie DeMare, Michael (Kaye), Tony, and Chris (Lynn); brothers, Richard and Donald, and sisters, Mary Jo Winder and Linda Reynolds. She was also adored by her 13 grandchildren: Jennifer, Joe, Kris-ten, Brian, Melissa, Kalyn, Frank, III (Scooter), Katie, Adriane, David, Andrew, Olivia, and Matthew. Her memory will also live on in her great-grandchildren: Ethan, McKenzie, Elizabeth, Stephen, and Madeline. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Marilyn.
