To Present GHS Recital A graduate music recital will be given by Constance and Corinne Bormann and Kathleen Plathe, seniors at Garrigan High School, May 18 at 8 p. m., in the Garrigan gym. Constance and Corinne are daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bormann and Kathleen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milford Plathe. Included in the program are "Claire de Lune", by Kathleen Plathe; "Polonaise", by Constance; and "Tocatta", by Corinne Bormann. A trio, "Gypsy Rondo" will also be given by the three girls. They have been active choral accompanists and members for four years. Kathleen is also a four-year band member. The public is cordially invited to attend. G.O.P. Women Sponsor Contest Entry blanks are now available at high schools in the county for the "Young America Speaks" contest sponsored by the Iowa Council of Republican Women. The contest is open to any high school student enrolled in grades nine through twelve in September, 1967, who has returned an entry blank by September 1. The county contest is scheduled for Saturday, September 16,1967. Cash prizes will be awarded to the county winners. The winner of the county contest will participate in a district contest. Each contestant shall choose one of six topics for his or her original speech. Entries should be mailed to Mrs. R. M. Thoreson, Boxl95, Algona, Iowa. Wins Scholarship John Meyer, student at St. John's of Bancroft and son of Mr. and Mrs. V. J.
