20, 1922 in Colonia Dublan, Mexico to Edson Whipple and Clara Porter Whipple. She graduated from Mesa Union High School in 1940 and attended the Lamson Business School. She retired in 1983 as secretary in the Maintenance Department of Mesa Public Schools. She was preceded in death by her husbands. Henry David Moser and Sam Harold Abney.

She is survived by her daughter Pam (Fred) Rentschler and son Gary (Kathy) Abney; grandchildren Jason (Leslie) Abney, (Melissa) Abney, Anney (Chris) Malone, Natalee (Travis) Macdonald, 11 great-grandchildren and sister Clara Jorgensen. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 1:30 pm at Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa. Interment will follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery.

Donald E. Bloom, age 78, of Phoenix, AZ and North East, PA, formerly of Lawrence Park, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born in Lumber City, PA on December 13, 1929, son of the late Millard and lanthe Witherite Bloom. He graduated from Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA in 1948 after at- VETERAN tending Lawrence Park High School until his senior year. Donald completed the General Elec-.

tric Apprentice Course after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was in Management at Bucyrus Erie, Zurn Industries and Electric Materials Company, retiring in 1972. He was an avid trap shooter and enjoyed the outdoors. Donald was preceded in death by his son, Donald Earl Bloom, his brother, Jack D.

Bloom; and a sister, June Randall. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Ann Woolsey and her husband Tom of Kiln, Mississippi; three sisters, Phyllis Catlin and her husband, Ernie, Connie Sigrist, and Shirley Smith and her husband Ed, all of Erie; three grandsons; two great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Janet Ball. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Private Memorial Service and interment will be conducted at a later date. To send condolences, visit www.dusckasfuneralhome.com. Virginia I. Boyle of Sun City, AZ. passed away on Friday, August 8, 2008. Virginia was born on April 28, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona, oldest of eight children of Holman and Anna Brooks.

She was a third generation Arizonan, descendent from a southern Arizona pioneer family. Virginia worked for Visiting Nurse Services and was a volunteer with Hospice of the Valley, Boswell Hospital and Lakeview Methodist Church. She was initially married for 27 years to Charles Shear and for another 24 years to Charles Boyle. Virgina is survived by her siblings Betty Schwanz, Pat Macari, Margaret Dietzman, Virgil Brooks, Bonnie Smith, Roy Brooks and Danah Young; her three children, Jim Shear (Linda), Deborah Kinsey (Curt) and Margaret Freund (Kurt); grandchilren and one great grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Lakeview Methodist Church, 10298 W.

She was born in Champaign, IL on January 12, 1936 to Glen and Dorothy Van Deventer (Gordy), whom have both preceded her in death. Carol moved to Phoenix in 1952 and attended North High School. After graduating from high school, Carol went to work for Valley National Bank where she worked for 28 years in the Real Estate Loan Department. She retired from the bank in 1992. She loved' working outside in the yard with her flowers and plants.

She also loved her second home in Rocky Point, Mexico, where she enjoyed the ocean being just a few steps from her patio. Carol leaves behind her loving husband, Phillip; 4 children, Todd Liston, Corey Liston, Debbi Nofftz (Doug) and Stacey Liston; grandson Nicolas Ramirez; 4 grand-daughters, Mikayla Liston, Maggie Ray Liston, Andrianne Neal, Stacey Rose Liston and a granddaughter that will be with us in 2 months, Kamaryn Nofftz. Carol also had two great-grandchildren, Allyson and Jonathon Neal. She also leaves behind her ex-husband Connie Liston. Carol was very loved by all her family and friends and will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be at Paradise Sunset Chapel, 3934 E. Indian School Friday (8-15-08) 5PM8PM. Funeral service at Paradise Sunset Chapel Saturday (8-16-08) at 10:30 AM. Graveside service at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery (8-16-08) at 12PM. Donations may be made in her memory to The Humane Society.

OBITUARIES John R. Glassy passed away the morning of August 8, 2008. He was born March 4, 1921 in Everett, Washington. He grew up in the SeattleTacoma area along with his four brothers, Frank, Maurice, Lawrence and Oliver and 3 sisters, Germane, Virginia and Marylin. He attended Seattle University and taught biology in Chester, Monta- VETERAN na.

John was a World War Il veteran, enlisting in the US Navy October 28, 1942. John proudly served in the Pacific theatre as a gunner on the Navy's sea rescue plane, the PBY. Before serving his country, he met his loving wife, Julie, in 1 Seattle, Washington. They were married December 30, 1946 and he remained devoted to Julie throughout 61 years of marriage. John and Julie settled in Tacoma, Washington and raised 7 wonderful children.

John and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1970 where he worked for Maricopa County Health John retired after working 22 years as a health inspector. John was a man of faith, being an active member in the Roman Catholic Church all his life. John possessed a talent for drawing and calligraphy that he used to create pictures and biblical sayings in a unique style all his own. Many that knew him have at least one piece of John's work. He was also a collector of sorts, especially books.

John was a kind and generous man and will be missed by all who knew him. John is survived by his wife, Julie, and his 7 children, Catherine, Christine, Pauline, Robert, David, Anne and Damien. John and Julie were also blessed with 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services include rosary and mass at Our Lady of Quito Roman Catholic Church, 9009 South 18th Street, Phoenix, Arizona, starting at 9:30 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 followed by a burial service at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Phoenix. Mr. Graeber volunteered for the United States Marines Corps in WWII and was a retail executive for Macy's for 37 years.

Grimwood, 98, of Sun City died August 6, 2008 at Odyssey Hospice in Peoria, Kendall AZ. Max County, was Il. on Oc- Dignity born in tober 5, 1909. He went to work for Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1927 in Aurora as a craftsman and in 1947 was promoted staff engineer and transferred to Chicago. In 1960 he was transferred to Springfield, and worked there until he retired in 1969 after 42 years of service.

Later that year he and his wife, Alina, moved to Sun City, AZ where they established their home and he started a clock repair business. He repaired clocks for several jewelry stores in the Sun Cities and the Phoenix area as well as for individuals until 2002. Alina died in 1987 and in 1988 he married Lenore Magill Powell from Springfield, Il and they moved to Sun City West where they lived for 15 years prior to moving back to Sun City and into Royal Oaks Lifecare Community. He was a member of Palm West Community Church in Sun City West and a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Max is survived by his wife, a son, Jon York of Belton, Missouri, a daughter, Sherry Kill of Waverly, Kansas, 3 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 14 great-greatgrandchildren, a niece and nephew and several cousins.

Brad fought his battle with such dignity.

Those who knew him were humbled by his strength. He was the adoring husband to Jeannine ther Justyna, Hancock, to Lindsey beloved beloved and son fa- Sir of Robert and Patricia Family Owned Hancock, adored brother to John Hancock and sister-in law Stefani Hancock. He was the beloved uncle to Sean Olney, Shanon Alden (Olney), Bethany Horner (Olney), his great niece Kaiya Horner and great nephew, Dylan Horner. Brad was preceded in death by his sister Sherri Olney (Hancock), and his mother-in-law Mary Richard of Prescott Valley. Brad enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, watching his favorite sports teams.

Most of all Brad loved life. He loved to laugh, loved a good joke and watching those around him smile. Brad had a long career as a project superintendent for a local General Contracting company. Brad, you will always be in the hearts of all who love you. You are missed and loved deeply.

Norman Herbert Littler, 90-years old, died Thursday August 7, 2008 in the loving care of his family; and Hospice of the Valley, to whom we would ask you donate in his name in lieu of flowers. Gerald Allen Mingus, 66, passed away August 7th, 2008. Gerald was born and raised in Colorado. Victor Hugh Stout (Ret.) passed away at his home in Fountain Hills, Arizona on August 8, 2008. He was born to Myrtle and Dalma Stout in Thermopolis, Wyoming on June 30, 1919. Mom Dad Rose Tristine Williams, Peoria, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on August 5, 2008. Born February 24, 1915 in Harrison, New York, Rose lived most of her life in Stratford, CT where she married Albert R. Williams who preceded her in death. She is survived by her four children, Diane Williams of Gulfport, Florida; Nancy Kritz-Barrett of Phoenix, AZ; Susan Williams of Peoria, AZ; and Albert Williams of Stratford, CT. She will also be missed by her four grandchildren, Aaron Kritz, Amy Kritz, Jillian vom Saal and Danielle Williams; also, great-grandchildren, Zachary Kritz and Noah Doyens.

Rose was the matriarch of a large Italian family and she will always be remembered for 'her energy, her sense of humor, and especially for her incomparable sauce and meatballs. Having lived in Arizona for the past twelve years, Rose never gave up her love for the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing in his native New York State and home in Arizona.
