Ludwig, 16, Algona, sustained ah estimated $500 damage when it crashed into a ditch off a blacktop highway two miles east of Whittemore at 2:30 a. m. Saturday. The vehicle was headed north at the time of the mishap. The driver couldn't stop at a dead end and the machine slammed into the ditch. The driver was charged with failing to have control and he and six passengers escaped injury. Deputy Sheriff Eppo Bulten investigated. At midnight Friday, autos driven by Gary L. Schultz, 17, and Danny R. Danielson, 18, both of Algona, collided one-fourth mile south of Algona on a blacktop road, resulting in an estimated $240 damage to the vehicles. Police investigated. Ten Bancroft Seniors Guests Of Sen. Murray Ten seniors from the government and economics classes of St. John's High School in Bancroft were guests of Sen. Don Murray of Bancroft at the State House in Des Moines, Wednesday for the opening of the General Assembly. The young people attended a commerce committee meeting in the morning and an education committee meeting in the afternoon. They also attended sessions in both the Senate and the House. While they were in Des Moines the group also toured the Capitol Building, the State Office Building and the State Historical Society Building. Algona Lady's Sister Dies At Blue Earth -S Freda Eichenberger, 62, Marysville, Kans., former resident of this area, died at the hospital at Blue Earth, Minn, Sunday morning. She was at Blue Earth visiting a brother, Robert, when she became ill. Funeral services for her were slated to be held at Marysville, probably Wednesday. She also has a sister living in Algona, Mrs. Harvey Rath, and another sister, Mrs. Anna Rath, Swea City. New Veterinarian A new veterinarian, Dr. Ralph A. Johnson, 35, will begin practice In Swea City, May 1. He will be located in the Clinic Building in Swea City. He is married, and the couple hare two children. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and has been practicing six years.
