The event is sponsored by their children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krause, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Krause, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Alt and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Krause. Fenton Again To Sponsor Yield Contest FENTON - The Fenton Community Club, along with the Iowa Crop Improvement Association, will again sponsor a corn and soybean yield contest. The purpose of the contest is to promote the use of good seed, to encourage the development of new techniques and to promote the use of good cultural practices in crop production for the betterment of Iowa agriculture. All contest fields must be of 10 acres or more to be eligible for the contest. Anyone interested may sign up at the First Trust & Savings Bank or the Farmers Co-op Elevator. Any further information in regard to the rules of the contest may be obtained there. No entries can be accepted after July 15, 1967. Fenton Women At Ass'n Meeting FENTON - Mr. and Mrs. Carl Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Haack, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bierstedt Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Borchardt attended the Aid Association for Lutherans annual Branch Seminar at Van's Restaurant on Sunday, April 16, at 7:30. Speakers were Edwin Rudd of Algona and Merle SchadeofWorthington, Minn. Seneca Stars Name Members To 4-H Camps SENECA - Seneca Stars 4-H Club held their April meeting at the home of Ann, Rosemary and Susan Fortney. Sixteen members answered roll call. The club secretary read a thank you note from Nina Kracht, one of the club leaders, for the bouquet of flowers sent her while she v.us hospitalized. The group chose as junior dels- gates to represent their club at district 4-H camp, Cindy Kabrick and Robin Krumweide. Debra Nyraan was named as an alter- nate. Barbara Andre was delegated to attend district 4-H camp at Clear Lake. Plans were made for a bowling party. A skating party was planned for the junior members for Sunday afternoon, April 23. Cindy Kabrick told the group how to select a suitable mat for a picture. Debra Nyman talked on the selection of a suitable frame for a picture. Linda Kracht gave a demonstration on buymanship, decision making and problem solving. Cathy Bergum gave an illustrated talk on sculpture by Christian Petersen. Rosemary Fortney gave a demonstration on refinishing wood. She demonstrated on a piano bench which is one of her home improvement projects. - o - Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wilberg of Topeka, Kans., are spending a week's vacation with their parents, the Henry Wilbergs and Victor Strueckers, and visiting other relatives and friends. Vernon is in the Air Force and stationed at Topeka. Mr. and Mrs.ElvinGodfredson entertained in honor of their twin sons, Ronald and Robert, for their second birthday anniversaries. Guests included the maternal grandfather, Frank Gappa of Ayrshire, also the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Godfredson, and Don Ditzler, all of Fairmont. 'Hope' Surgeon Is Speaker AtSentral Dr. John McGregor, a surgeon from Mason City, showed slides and spoke of his tour of duty on the ship "Hope" in the spring of 1966, last Tuesday evening at Sentral School. The ship served Nicaragua. The name Hope stands for Health Opportunity for People Everywhere. He said that the Hope must be asked to come to a country, that they do not go at random to any country. The country asks for the services. A team of doctors and nurses from America go a year before the ship arrives to set up consultations with prospective patients, and set up the clinics and best place to make port for the ship, so when the ship arrives they do not waste tim? with these procedures. The patients brought on board are used to help show the native doctors and nurses the most effective techniques and ways to treat such cases. All doctors who serve on the ship are volunteers. Ten years ago Dr. McGregor performed lung surgery on Max Borchardt and it was through the efforts of his mother, Mrs. Ervin Borchardt, as a member of the Town and Country Woman's Club thatDr. McGregor was brought to the Sentral community. - o Representatives of the local chapters of Future Teachers of America, attended the North Central District planning meeting at Garner, Monday afternoon. Hassel was among three nominees for district treasurer, the election to take place at the district convention, Sept. 3 at Eagle Grove. Jackson was one -.of four nominated for state treasurer, to be elected next April at the state convention in Des Moines. District and state officers must be either sophomores or juniors at the time of their election. Mrs. Harlan Elmers and Bonnie, and Mrs. Hilbert Bierstedt and Evelyn went to St. Paul Saturday and visited Concordia College. Mrs. Wm. Elmers accompanied them and visited her daughter, Mr. andMrs.Robt Olson.
