Elgin Allen and family plan to spend April 30 at Clear Lake with Mrs. Allen's brother and sister-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Zalin, who will have their cottage opened by that time for summer living. AROUND THE TOWN & COUNTRY Meet Jim McEnroe Of Algona This week's Country Neighbor is Jim McEnroe, 45, who farms 1 1/2 miles east of Algona. He and his father, Frank, who remains active at the age of 82, farm a total of 440 acres. He has lived in the same home for 33 years and during 1966 had 131 acres of corn, 130 acres of beans and 65 acres of pasture. They also have cattle and horses on the place. Jim, who also likes dogs, enjoys working with corn and calls it his favorite job. Jim is a member of the National Farmers Union and the Algona Bit and Spur Club. He also has several hobbies, including read- ing, woodworking, upholstery, swimming and horseback riding. He and Jeannette Marie Buscher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buscher, Sr., Algona, were married June 1, 1949 after a mutual friend introduced them earlier. She is also a member of the Bit and Spur Club and enjoys some of her husband's hobbies, plus ice skating and sewing. Both enjoy the Kiwanis Travel Series and Community Concerts here.
