Upper Des Moines Tuesday, April 18, 1967 Wed At Whittemore WHTTTEMOEE - Barbara Greiac-rt of Oes Moines became the bride ol James Zaugg In St. "vl's Lutheran cliurch at Whittemore Saturday, April 8, at 7 p.m. Rev. Cleo Kautsch officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Greinert of Rodman and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Zaugg, West Bend. Reuben Butzke was organist and accompanied David Fehr, soloist. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was attired in a white floor length gown of acetate rayon linen with long sleeves extending to the wrists and chapel length train extending to the shoulders. Her elbow length veil of Imported illusion net was attached to a crown of chantilly lace. She carried a bouquet of mums, orchids and stephanotis. Betty Greinert, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Norman Zaugg, brother of the bridegroom, was bestman and James Greinert, brother A of the bride, was groomsman. Ushers were Dean Meyer and Robert Fehr. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the La Fiesta Club, West Bend, for 300 friends, relatives and neighbors. The bride attended West Bend school and graduated in 1964, and was employed in Des Moines until her marriage. Mr. Zaugg is also a graduate of West Bend High School in 1963, attended college for two years and is now in service stationed at Newhall Calif. They will be at home at Newhall Cal. (Glenn's Studio Photo) Name Winners In St. Joe C.D.A. Poetry Contests ST. JOE - Catholic Daughters of America, Court SL Joseph, met Wednesday evening with grand regent Mrs. N. J. Weydert presiding. Winners from St. Joseph's School in the Catholic daughters poetry contest are Cathy Reding and Stephen Gales, 8th. grade students, and Barbara Frieders, Diane Bormann, Margene Thilges and Barbara McGuire, sixth grade students. Past grand regents Mrs. Joe Sinnwell and Mrs. Francis Erpelding gave a history of the local Court. Mrs. Frank Bormann a member and past grand regent from Davenport attended the meeting. The CDA Mother-Daughter Communion Sunday will be held on May 7 th. The Mother-Daughter Banquet is scheduled for Thursday June 1st. at 6:30 in St. Joseph's School Hall. A report was made by Agnes Berte on the World Mission drive held during lent. A large supply of medicines, bandages and clothing was sent to the missions. Rev. LeoC.Schumacher, chaplain and pastor, gave a short talk after the meeting. Lunch was served and birthday gifts were given to Mrs. Frank Bormann and Mrs. Wilfred Kohlhaas. Howard Frideres left Saturday morning for Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, for 6 months training in the Air National Guard. He is a member of the Iowa National Guard Unit at Fort Dodge, and a graduate of Garrigan High School in 1964. Gary Friders returned home on Wednesday from Fort Bragg, No. Carolina, with his discharge from nearly 3 years service with the Green Berets and paratroopers. Gary and Howard are sons of Harold Frieders. Mrs. Peter Bormann, Mrs. E. J. Gales, Mrs. Paul Erpelding, and Mrs. Sylvester Wagner at- tended the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women spring meeting of the Northeast Deanery in St. Patrick's Hall in Estherville, Wednesday April 12th. MRS. N. J. Weydert, Mrs. Marvin Reding and Mrs. Maurice Reding attended a C.D. of A, Workshop at Emmetsburg on Sunday, April 9th. Word was received here of the death of Adeline Neisen in Port Washington, Wise, on Thurs. morning April 13th. Mrs. Neisen is a cousin of Mrs. John Thul, St. Joe and Mrs. Nick Eischen, St. Benedict, Casper Kayser, Waseca, Minn., and Sister M. Amalia OSF. Dubuque. Other survivors are four sons and one sister. Funeral services were held at Port Washington, Wise, on Sat. morning at 10:30 in the Catholic church. John B. Reding, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Reding, Mrs. Donald Hlg and Don Reding were recent visitors with Sister M. Madeline OSF. Corpus Christi Convent, Chicago, 111. Mrs. Harold Thul underwent surgery in St. Joseph's Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge on Tuesday. Marvin Kohlhaas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kohlhaas underwent bone surgery on an arm in St. Joseph's Mercy hospital in Ft. Dodge oivTues. Marvin is a sophomore at Garrigan, Algona. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Evanson, Candice, Jeff and Dean left on Wednesday evening for their home, Northridge, Cal., after a- visit here Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bormann and Kenneth assisted Mr. and Mrs. George Ham and son with moving from Ames to St. Paul over the past weekend.
