IS HOSTESS Mrs. Ted Chrischilles entertained her bridge club April 13. - o - ATTEND REUNION Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moulton were in Kansas City last week attending a reunion of World War 2 buddies. During their absence, Mrs. Florence Bjustrom stayed with her grandchildren. - o- HAS BIRTHDAY The eightieth birthday of Mrs. Violet Walker was observed Friday. Among guests were her sister, Mrs. Rose Sabin, and brother, Earl Rich, Mrs. Ed Rich, Mrs. John Rich and members of the Four Corners mothers and daughters club of which the honoree is a member. She was given a card shower and was also presented with a gift from the club. - o - BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Ann Hanson is entertaining her bridge club Wednesday. - o - SHOWER HONORS A miscellaneous coin shower was held in honor of Helen Weydert, April 2 in St. Cecelia's Academy hall. Marlene and Diane Golwitze had the guest book. Joan Golwitze carried the gifts. Darlene Weydert and Maureen Thilges assisted the bride in opening her many gifts. Guests played 500 and prizes were won by Mrs. Dwaine Weydert, Bode, and Mrs. Wilfred Schneider, Bode, Mrs. Ray Thilges, Bode, won the door prize. Miss Weydert became the bride of Kenneth Krapp April 8 in St. Cecelia's church. Miss Weydert is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Weydert and Kenneth is the son of Mrs. Margaret Krapp and the late Martin Krapp, Bancroft. - o FRIENDLY CLUB The Riverdale Friendly Club met April 5 at the home of Nina Gisch. New officers elected were Doris Miller, president; Mary Casey, vice president; secretary-treasurer, Eleanor Hungate. Cards were played with high honors going to Arline Simon and low to Mary Casey; travel, Loretta Thilges. The next meeting will be a Leona Sabins on May 3. - o - AT SORORITY CONCLAVE Mrs. John Dole went to Iowa City Friday, April 7, to attend a district meeting of her social sorority. Alpha Chi Omega. Members from alumnae and collegiate groups from Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North and South Dakota were present. Mrs. Dole has been" re-elected president of the Ft. Dodge Alumnae Club and is now State Recommendations chairman. -0- POST NUPTIAL A post-nuptial bridal shower was given Saturday evening, April 1, at the First Methodist church, Algona, for Mrs. Thomas Miller, a recent bride. Mrs. Loren Bell gave a humorous reading. Mrs. Howard Long and Mrs. Clifford Teeter had the entertainment. Janette Miller registered the 65 guests. Marcia Curtis, Litchfield, Minn., Janis Boeckholt, Forest City, Mary Kay Miller and Nancy Elmore, Algona, assisted with opening the gifts. Mrs. Mario Barillas, Des Moines, aunt of the bride, poured. Other hostesses were Mesdames Raymond Vigdal, Mike Ellwrt, Raymond Dau, Louis Nitchals, Agnes Brophy, Sidney Johnson, Edna Miller, William Boeckholt, Earl Elmore, Leo Elmore, Charles Elmore, Verle Elmore and James Elmore. Mrs. Miller, the former Cheri Boeckholt, is attending Mankato State College and her husband is serving with the U. S. Army Signal Corps in Viet Nam. - o MR. AND MRS. John Kohlhaas returned Thursday after spending three months at Corpus Christi, Tex. Shafer, Rosendale, Wise., is the bride-elect of Howard Gene Funk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Funk, Algona. Miss Shafer is a graduate of Marion College, Fond Du Lac, Wise., and teacher at Oak Creek, Wise. Her fiance is a 1963 graduate of State .University of Iowa in mechanical engineering and is employed with the Perfex Corp., Milwaukee. A July wedding is being planned.
