She moved to Phoenix in 1956 where she resided until 1974. She was an active bowler and member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. She was preceded in death her husband of 37 years, Art J. Dion, Sr.

She is survived by her children Gerri Clem (Daniel), Art Dion Jr. (Kathy), Chrissi South (Darek), David Dion (Rana), and John Dion (Jeri). She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. We love you Mom, rest well. He was born on a farm in Webster to County, Michael lowa, seph Ford and Katherine Ellen Sinnett, on March 7, 1914.

He lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa; Sioux City, Iowa; Moorhead, Minnesota; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Sun City, Arizona. Mr. Ford was preceded in death: by his wife, Mildred Burk Ford; his grandson, Stephen Michael Ford; his son-in-law, Gary Packard Clausen; his daughter-in-law, Lois Ann Wehage Ford; and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sister, Helen Henry, his seven children: daughters Judith Ellen Ford (Gene Swartzfager), Sue Ford Clausen, Anne Ford Nelson (John), and sons Michael Clement Ford (Patricia Eastwood), Patrick Burk Ford (Angie), John Dennis Ford (Ginny), and William Thomas Ford (Pam). He is also survived and remembered by his eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mr. Ford's work history included: Sales Company in Fort Dodge, lowa; the Social Security Administration in Fort Dodge, lowa and Sioux City, Iowa; and was the manager of the Social Security Office in Fargo, North Dakota. He was active in retirement as a member of a Serenity Prayer Spiritual Group, as the coordinator of lectors in his parish, and as an advisor to many on problems of aging and taxes. Clem was a card carrying Irish Catholic Democrat. His awareness of being responsible for society's marginalized and vulnerable people, was an incredible example for his children and grandchildren.

He was an exemplary grandfather who believed in each his grandchildren. The Celebration of Clem Ford's Life was held at his son John's home in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday, January 27, 2003; and the Memorial Mass was held at St. Clement of Rome Church in Sun City, Arizona, on January 28, 2003, at 10:00 AM. The family asks that memorial gifts be sent to Mr. Ford's nieces' mission to women in Torreon, Mexico.

Gifts can be addressed to: Benedictine Sisters, Mexican Mission, 801 South 8th Atchison, sas, 66002. Attention: "Sister Janelle Maes. Kathleen Anne "Kay" Garrity, 70, of Phoenix, AZ, died January 29, 2003 after a long illness. Born August 29, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Dr. James C.

and Norma (Marshall) Garrity. Kay graduated from St. John's school of nursing in Springfield, IL and did post graduate work at the University of Arizona. She worked at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI and at University Hospital in Galveston, TX before settling in Phoenix, which she dearly loved.

She was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital for 37 years and reached the position of head nurse. Kay is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ken and Carolyn Collard of Hedgesville, WV, nephews, Tim Collard of Westminster, MD and Joe Collard of Key West, FL, niece, Mary T. Collard of Owings Mills, MD and 10 grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a niece, Julia Reddinger of Ellicott City, MD.

Kay was an avid world traveler with a passion for books and an eclectic collection of folk and classical music. A mass celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, February 4, at 11:00 A.M., at Most Holy Trinity Church, 8620 N. 7th Street. Beloved mother to John Daniel, David Daniel, Debbie LivingKim Miller, flew home after short battle with lung cancer. She was born in Peoria, IL and raised in Indianapolis, where she was a homemaker. She later a counselor for the physically challenged at Meyer Chapel.

She and her family moved to Scottsdale, AZ where she became a guidence counselor at the Arizona Girls School Correctional Facility. She then made her home in the White Mountain area of Show Low, where she became a laboratory assistant at Navaopache Regional Medical facility where she was honored with Employee of the Year. She had also become a trained Red Cross volunteer. She is also survived by husband Richard Genet and brother Dave Buttke. She loved the mountains and her "critters" but lived only for her family that included nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She will be sorely missed from those friends she cherished and all those she touched with her special gift of love, laughter and compassion. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday Feb 1, at Papago Park, Scottsdale, AZ at 12:00 Ramada All are welcome. "Little people make me smile." Gama Kenneth Ray Gentry 74, was born June 21, 1928 in Russell, Oklahoma. He entered into rest January 27, 2003 in Phoenix, Arizona. He honorably served his country in the U.S.

Navy during World War II. Following his military service, he worked for Mountain Bell for over 30 years until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Gentry, two sons, Kenneth Ray Gentry Jr. (Linda) and Alan Lee Gentry, three grandsons, Chris Gentry, Thomas Gentry and Jeremiah Gentry, four greatgrandchildren, Jennifer, Justice, Jerred and Gabriel a.k.a. two brothers, Ralph Gentry and Douglas Gentry and six sisters, Evelyn Wells, Margaret Trumpower, Joyce Ellis, Marilyn Gentry, Linda Celaya and Lila Sutton.

Born in Ashtabula, OH, Debra was a talented artist, independent spirit and a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Al Glann, an instructor at the Art Institute of Phoenix; daughter Kimberly; parents Genevieve and Ernest Savarise and sisters Susan Savarise, Marla Cusano and Bonna Savarise.

Debra attained a BFA from the Columbus College of Art Design. An award-winning visual artist who worked with paint, printmaking and mixed media, Debra showed her work in New York, Chicago, Columbus, Phoenix, Hungary, Spain and Japan. Debra suffered from Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy and was an advocate and leader for others with disabilities. Shirley Nickols Fahey, 74, of Tucson, AZ died peacefully on January 26, 2003 in Phoenix, AZ. Shirley was born in Omaha, NE on Nov 7, 1928 and spent her childhood in Shenandoah, IA. She attended Vanderbilt University and the University of Florida where she earned her PhD in social psychology in 1964.

After teaching at Texas Christian University and Ohio University, she moved to Tucson, and in 1970 took a position as an assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona. During the 70's she was a major force in the women's movement. She was a founding member and first president of the Tucson chapter of the National Organization for Women. She also served as an officer of the American Association of University Professors. Under her chairmanship, the AAUP'S Committee on the ProfessioStatus of Women worked with the University to establish revised nepotism guidelines.

Shirley was a valued member of the University's medical school staff, earning the of A Foundation's Creative Teaching Award in 1976 for the Human Behavior and Development Course which was developed coordinated by Shirley and her associate, Dr. Herb Pollack. Shirley retired from the of A Medical School in July 2000 after 30 years as a Professor, Counselor of Medical Students, Director of the Division of Social Perspectives in Medicine, Member of the Medical School Admissions Committee, and most recently, the Associate Dean of Admissions. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Leslie Creswell and husband, Steve; daughter, Sharon Bowman; son, Gilbert Dickey Ill and wife, Martha; sister, Beverly Placker; 6 grandchildren, and 17 nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held in Tucson on Saturday, Feb 1, 2003 at 2pm at the Mansion, 288 N.

Helen Elizabeth was born on February 24, 1910, George Casper Wheiland and Ge or gia Melinda (P helps) a homestead seven miles south of Lemmon, S.D. In 1912 she moved with her parents to New England, N.D. where she resided until 1979.

She was graduated from New England Public High School on May 27, 1927. In May of 1929 she was graduated from the standard education program at Valley City Normal School now Valley City State College. On June 26, 1930 she was united in marriage with Harold Ralph Hanson. They made their home on the Hanson homestead in Slope County until 1939. From 1939 until 1942, Harold and Helen lived in Bowbells, N.D., where Harold was employed by the Farm Security Administration.

In 1942 they returned to the homestead and in 1944 moved to a farm home two miles from New England, ND, in Hettinger County and continued their farming interests until Harold retired in 1979. Helen was a school teacher, outstanding homemaker and the mother of two children: Georgia Elaine who preceded her in death and Janice Helen who resides in Peoria, AZ. She was active in North Dakota politics, serving as state VicePresident of the North Dakota Democratic Women. She was also active in her church, First Congregational of New England, ND. She was a member of Eastern Star.

Helen and Harold wintered in Arizona from 1950, finally purchasing a small home in Sun City in 1969. They retired to Sun City in 1979. I In Sun City, Helen was active in the Church of the Palms, serving on the deaconate and active in bridge groups and after the loss of her husband Harold in 1984, the Singles Club. Helen also belonged to Elk's Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed the informal bridge games as well as Marathon bridge. Helen is survived by a daughter, Jan Lundstrom of Peoria, AZ; a grandson, Mark Gutensohn of Las Vegas, NV; a granddaughter, Margo Smith of Las Vegas, NV and a granddaughter, Alisha Porter Atlanta, GA.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter and her sister. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2003, at the Church of the Palms, 14808 Boswell Sun City.
