ARIZONA. RE IC. THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC Max 0. Mitchell was born in Anderson, Missouri, on January 1, 1928. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 79 on February 9, 2007.

He and his wife, Lee, had homes both in Mesa, and San Francisco, CA. He had a long and productive career both in AZ and CA, working for Garret as the Superintendent Dignity of Manufacturing, then for Allied Signal as the manager of the Pneumatics Division in Tempe. He then moved to CA and became CEO of AMPEX Corp. until he retired. He and Lee traveled the world, both for his work and for pleasure, meeting and making many friends.

He will be lovingly and lastingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, his son, Andrew and wife Pam, of Mesa Arizona, as well as his daughter Karen Mitchell of Everett, WA, his granddaughter Janet Braden and her husband Char-Lez, and his granddaughter Julie Cruff of Tacoma, with her two daughters, his great granddaughters, Keah and Alaina. Memorial services will be held at the Melcher Mission Chapel, 6625 E. Main, Mesa at 2 PM, on Tuesday, February 13. There will be a short viewing at 1 PM for those who wish attend. Family suggests donations to the Diabetes Association.

Karen Ann Mock-Harris, age 38, passed away suddenly on February 4, 2007 in Tempe, AZ. Karen is survived by her husband Stewart Harris, sons; Rimington age 7, and Jonathan Cox of Perry, 3 step- children; Ryan, Josh and Devon Harris. She also leaves behind her mother Stella G. Mock of Tampa FL, her brother Ashley Mock and her grandmother Lura Mae Pert, both of Perry, and a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Karen was preceded in death by her father Danny Mock and her brother Travis Mock.

She will be truly missed all that knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Perry, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Tempe Mortu- Kevin Tolin Morrison, was born in Salem Oregon on December 2, 1977 and passed away in Phoenix, Arizoon February 6, 2007. He is survived by his three daughters, Zoe, Emma, and Hannah and their mother, Kim Morrison; his parents, Hayden and Debbie Morrison, and two sisters, Vonda McDaniel and Meredith Colbrunn and a special friend Phil Prince. Kevin was an avid animal lover, an ex-marine, and a member of the Phoenix Police department.

His work with the police department was highlighted by his most recent assignment at Trevor Browne High School in west Phoenix. Josephine Nichols, a long time resident of Az, passed away on Janu- ary 30, 2007 at her home in San Diego, CA. She was' 90 years old. Born in West Finley PA on Oct 28, 1916. A wonderful, loving mother and a kind generous soul to all whose path she crossed, it took only moments to see her playfulness and sense of humor. All who met her loved her.

Jo received her BS Degree in Education from Waynesburg, PA and taught school for more than 40 years. In PA she taught from 1936- 1948. Moved to Arizona in 1948 where she taught at Kenilworth School in Coolidge until 1968; then from 1970-1978 in Bullhead City, AZ. She retired in 1978 and moved to Mesa where she substitute taught for the next 12 years. She was a caring and dedicated teacher who tried to make a difference to all the young lives she touched.

Jo was a member of the Senior Center Players in Mesa singing in productions that were taken to Senior Centers and schools all over the Phoenix Area. In 1993 she moved to San Diego, CA to live with her daughter. There she did volunteer tutoring for several more years. Surviving Josephine is her daughter, Mona Wright of San Diego; her sister and brother-in-law Helen and Harold Frye, of Holbrook, PA and 5 generations of nieces and nephews. Ross. He spent his youth in Hamilton and Missoula, MT and graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Business. He served with the Army in World War in France, Germany (under General Patton) and the Philippines. He married June V. Durrer in Missoula, MT on July 3, 1945.

He worked for Standard Oil of from 1947 until his retirement in 1982; serving in the USA until 1967, then in Germany, England and Australia as Managing Director. After retirement, Jim and June lived 'in Scottsdale AZ and spent the summers their cabin in Seeley Lake, MT. Jim is survived by his wife June, their children and families: June (Tony) Tangaro of Butte, MT and their children Anthony (Sydni) Tangaro, James (Michele) Tangaro, Karen (Sean) Byrnes; Paula (Allen) Mcillece of Sandy, UT and their children Shawn (Jenn) Mclllece, Michelle (Eric) Beins, and Brian (Jen) Mclllece; and Paul (Teri) Ross of Riverton, UT and their children Jeremiah (Gina) Ross and Jayson (Vanessa) Ross; his sister Ruth Lenore (Roger) Wiedoff of Rocklin, CA, plus 10 greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephew, and many friends. David "Bruce" Sargent, 73, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 30, 2007. A native of Seattle, he moved to Arizona in VETERAN April 2000 to enjoy his retirement in the Valley of the Sun. Bruce is lovingly survived by his bother and sister in law, Grant and Gloria Sargent of Scottsdale, and his niece, Janine Dawley and her husband Kris and their children Megan and Cole, of Centennial, CO. Special thanks to Bruce's caregivers, especially Honorio, Juana and Eliud, who provided loving care in his final months. She was one of the best elementary school teachers of all time and she was a great wife and outstanding mother. Lieschen is survived by her loving husband, Terry of 26 years.

Sheldon Tatz, 68, of Phoenix, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2007. He was born in Chicago, IL on December 10, 1938. Sheldon married Charlene Feingold in Phoenix on July 5, 1958. He enjoyed over 30 years in the wholesale wine, spirits and beer industry; retiring in 1997. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing golf with his grandson, Kipp, quite often.

He enjoyed poker and horse racing for recreation. Sheldon was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed. Survivors include wife Charlene; son Paul Tatz: daughters Melissa Tatz Debbie Carter; parents Norman Shirley Tatz; sisters Donna Rubenstein Phyllis Lehman; grandchildren Kipp Dufty, Sarah Dufty, Heather Dickson, Jerry Carter III, Tyler Tatz, Rachel Carter; and great-grandchild Ryleigh Dickson. She was a beloved Soul Mate, mother, daughter and grandmother. Marla passed was on January 28, 2007 at the age of 60 after a long courageous battle with lung cancer. She was a homemaker; she loved her crafts, taking and painting pictures and had a great love for music. Her nature was to take care of others and to put everybody before herself. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends everywhere.

Wanda enjoyed the outdoors, fishing throughout the Western States. She was active in the LDS church and enjoyed her callings in the church. She loved her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff Stargret, plus her grandchildren, Candice, J.D., and Jonathon. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Willers, 82, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on February 9, 2007. He is survived by his Jane wife of (Pilcher) 61 years, Willers, Mary two sons, Chris and Dan, a daughter, Kathy and husband, Walt Auman; two grandchildren; Kelly and Matt Auman. He is also survived by three sisters, Mary Louise Bertrand, Teresa Shaff, and Genevieve Kiefer. Bernie is preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Elizabeth and his brother Frank. Betty Wilson, 80 of Chandler, AZ, died February 7, 2007. Betty was born on April 22, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell, her mother Isabelle (Toots) and her sister Dawn Riley.

Survivors: her nephew Zane Riley of Gilbert, AZ. a great nephew Jason Riley of Gilbert, AZ and her brother-in-law Emmett Riley of Belle Fourche, South Dakota. She her husband Wendell moved here from Belle Fourche in 1970. Betty worked in the banking industry until she retired in 1991. Memorial services pending.

Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary. Alton Ralph Wood, 82 years, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away on February 6, 2007. Mr. Wood served our country during WWII in the US Navy. Services VETERAN will be held at a later date.

Arrangements by Bueler Mortuary. Winifred Diaz Grande, AZ, on Mrs. Woodson was born Pensacola, FL in 1919. She was educated New Orleans and graduated from Coronado High School (Coronado, CA). During WWII she married William Howell Woodson died in Casa February 7, 2007.

in Woodson, a Naval Officer, engineer, pilot and a recipient of the Navy Cross. They raised their three children as a Navy family until 1962 when they moved to Scottsdale for Bill to start his second career with McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Corporation. After more than 20 years with Boeing, they retired to Sun City West. Mr. Woodson died in 1990.

Winifred was a wonderful mother and an active civic volunteer. She was a Girl Scout Area Leader in Southern California and a docent for the Phoenix Art Museum. She enjoyed sewing, cultivating roses, travel, art, poetry and dachshunds. Winnie moved to Casa Grande in 1998 where she lived with her daughter for one year, The Garnet for five years, and Desert Pavilion for two and one-half years. She is survived by her children Dr.

Barbara Frances of San Francisco, Thomas "Bear" Woodson of Tucson, and Dr. Janice Pratt (Frank) of Casa Grande, two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. The inurnment and memorial for Winnie will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, February 24, at Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, Arizona. Angela Pauline Wright, 73, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on February 6, 2007. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, February 17th, 2007 at 10:00 A.M.
