Algona Women To Teach At Woden Crystal Mrs. Orlarri "Yield" Steil of Algona, has signed a contract for the 1967-68 school year as commercial instructor at the Woden-Crystal Lake Community School. Mrs. Steil, a graduate of St. Cecelia's Academy and Garrigan High School, Algona, received her B.A. degree in business education — secretarial emphasis, and a minor in history, from the State College of Iowa in 1965. She has done substitute teaching at Britt High School. This will be her first year of Ml teaching. Mr. Steil is engaged in farming in the Algona community. The Steils are the parents of a daughter, Stephanie Ann, who is 15 months old. New "Welcome" Banners Used The new "Welcome To Algona" banners were first used for 4-H Day in Algona. Seven of these across-the-street banners were Tuesday, April 4, 1967 Algona, (la.) Upper. Des Moines-11 f purchased by the Algona Chamber of Commerce. They will be used for appropriate occasions. The Algona Municipal Utilities put them up with their new truck. The Chamber committee in charge of the use of the banners is Bud Anderson, chm., Jim Palmer, Dick Buscher and Ervin Wiltgen. Algona Girls In College Musical The College of Saint Teresa, Winona, Minn., will present three musical groups, the Collegiate Choir, the Teresa Triple Trio, and the Cecilians in a Sacred Concert on Thursday evening, April 6 at 7:30 in the College auditorium. Sister M. Sixtus, O.S.F. is director of the three choral groups. Miss Michele Cassel, a junior at the College, is a member of the Collegiate Choir. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cassel, 6?.l East Call St., Algona. Miss Susan Bode, a sophomore, accompanies the choral groups. She isthe daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland E. Bode, R. R. #2.
