She was born March 8, 1944 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, J.T. Baker; son, Ric Baker; four sisters, Rosemary Anglin, of Reno, Betty Thompson and Cecil Seibert of Phoenix and Alice Williamson of Norman, OK; 1 grandson, Gabe and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony J. Rodriguez and Rose Rodriguez.

attended The Nativity of B.V.M. and Flagstaff High School. She was an officer in The Flagstaff Women's Bowling Association for many years. was a member of The W.I.B.C., Arizona State Women's Bowling Association, Phoenix Women's Bowling Association and Arizona Bowlerettes. She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, water skiing, bowling and playing bingo.

She was a caregiver to anyone that needed help. She will always be remembered lovingly by all of her many friends. Most of all her whole family loves her very very much. Beardsley AZ. Joseph M. "Bud" Berning, 81, passed away on July 5, 2003. Born May 22, 1922 in Norwood, Ohio, Bud is survived by wife Ann Lee, the love of his life for 58 years; children JoAnn Parrish, Michael Berning, Patricia Berning, Tom Berning and Amy Berning; daughters in-law Judy Fleming and Nancy O'Neill; grandchildren Chris (Kim), Todd, Zachary, Nick, Stephanie, Molly and Patrick; and great grandchildren Ellie and Evie Blue. He is also survived by sisters Jane Martin and Rita Rhein and brother Maurice (Helen) Berning and extended family member Margaret Cody.

Following graduation from Norwood High School and employment at Wright Aeronautical, Bud enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and proudly served his country as a photographer's mate first class in the Pacific theatre during WWII. Discharged in 1946, he apprenticed as a diamond cutter with JP Knight in Cincinnati, Ohio where he cut diamonds for 19 years. In 1965, Bud and family relocated to Arizona where he owned and operated Joseph M. Berning Jewelry and Diamond Cutting in Tempe for 20 years.

The store now operates as Berning's Fine Jewelry under proprietorship of daughter Patricia and grandson Zachary. Subsequent to retirement in 1985, Bud golfed, traveled extensively with Ann Lee, and enjoyed visiting with family, particularly his grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Mary Ann Beal who provided love and support to Ann Lee and Bud. Mass will be held Thursday, July 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale at 3801 N.

Shirley Joy Blanchfield, 72, of Phoenix, AZ, passed from this world into a better place with her family at her side on July 3, 2003. Her devotion to her beloved Savior, and her endless love and compassion for her family, friends, and anyone in need, will remain an inspiration to all that knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving husband of 51 years, Joseph Blanchfield of Phoenix, her daughter, Jody Blanchfield of Oklahoma City, and her two sons, Jay Blanchfield of Phoenix, and Jeffrey Blanchfield of New York City. She was a wonderful mother, a perfect wife, and a dedicated Christian who delighted in serving the Lord. Even her neighbor commented that she had never met someone so busy doing God's work. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, on July 9, 2003. She spent many volunteer hours supporting Lutheran Braille Workers, a group dedicated to bringing Christ to those in darkness.

in Glendale with a funeral service held at 11:30 A.M. Richard Cimino (Poppy) passed away peacefully July 4, 2003 with his loving family at his bedside. He fought an intense battle with cancer for almost two years. Richard was the "boss" and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His stern demeanor concealed a genuinely compassionate man full of much love and kindness.

It has long been known that "He can fix anything but a broken heart." With his passing, his family now has that broken heart. A man of courage and dignity, Richard was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during World War earning seven medals including the Bronze Star. His spirit will continue to live on within each of his surviving family members. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Phoenix, Arizona, a member of the Engineering Society and past president of the American Italian Men's Civic Organization.

He is survived by his wife, Tina, son, Richard (Carol), and daughters, Diana (Tom) and Stephanie, as well as his grandchildren: Christina, Richard J. I1, Anthony, Veronica and Alexandria, and sisters: Mary and Grace. Estelle Cooper, age 81. Phoenix. She was born in Cleveland, OH and moved to the Valley 43 years a ago. Estelle was a waitress for Katz's Deli in Phoenix for: 35 years. In Chicago she was editor for the Highland Park News, held various editor positions with several area newspapers, attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School and Patricia Stevens Modeling where she was also a model, and was a part-time actress with the Goodman Theater. Prior to her marriage she was a stewardess for United Airlines. She was a member of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Paradise Valley, AZ; a member of the Junior League; and volunteered for various charitable organizations. She is survived by her son, Dean Laffey; stepdaughters, Joy DeShazor Brydon, Nancy DeShazor Bourke, and Linda DeShazor Dunlosky; grandchildren, Troy, Heather, Philip, and Mary Laffey; step-grandchildren, Sinclair and John Brydon, and Ross F.

Michelle Elizabeth Finlay, 29, of Apache Junction, died July 5, 2003, in Mesa, Az. Michelle, an insurance representative for State Farm, was born in Phoenix, and grew up in Payson. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Andrew Finlay; son Keaton Andrew Finlay age 6, father William Wilson Jr. of Payson; sister Heather Mason of Apache Junction; brother William Wilson Ill of Payson; two nieces; two nephews and many friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Ann Wilson.

Gertrude M. Goldsmith, 84, Sun City, AZ died Thursday afternoon July 3, 2003 at Peppertree Square where she resided since Dec. 2000. She was born January 19, 1919 in Hopedale, IL, to Aaron A. and Lena (Egli) Litwiller.

On May 13, 1967 she married Henry M. Goldsmith who preceded her in death on November 22, 2000. Her first husband, Glen T. Johnson preceded her in death at age 55. Gertrude was employed by the Morton Illinois school district for 25 years prior to her retirement.

After moving to Sun City she was an active volunteer at the Good Shepherd Care Center. Surviving are her daughter Suzanne M. Breniser of Sun City, AZ; her son, Wayne Edward Johnson of Morton, grandchildren, Brian J. Breniser, Tara L. Breniser, Stacie Joanne Johnson; three great grandchildren, Anna M.

Breniser, Lara N. Breniser, Kyla Johnson; two brothers, Sanford Litwiller and Aaron Litwiller, Delevan, IL. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jesse Litwiller of Morton, IL, Harvey Litwiller of Sun City and Menno Litwiller of Millersburg, IN and one sister, Marie Hummell of Peoria, IL. Coral Gables, Phoenix. Interment will follow at Desert Hills Memorial Park. Evelyn R. Lundy, 81, of Mesa passed away July 1, 2003 after a brief battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on Aug 10th, 1921.

She moved to Niagara Falls, NY with her husband John in 1943 before moving to Mesa in 1969. She was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by three daughters Christine Tanzella, Deborah Gale and Michele Lundy, three grand children Lorrie Walker, Horn Lake John Tanzella and Eddie Gale of Phx. Five great grand children, two sisters Lenore Conrad of Sanford, FL and Olive Klem of Cleveland, Ohio. She leaves behind many friends and will be missed by all but we know she is resting peacefully in the Lords house.

Army during the Korean War and later became a professional Engineer. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl: sister, Lenora and son, Junior. Neal, 89 resident of Phoenix passed away June 25, 2003. She was born Georgetta H. Kelley, on Nov. in Harrisburg, Penn. She was an only child of Peter Kelly Celia Ronge White.

Georgia came to AZ in 1922 graduated from Phoenix Union High. She married H.M. Tommy Tompkins of Nashville, Tenn. and retired from her job with the state after 26 years. Her life was lived to the fullest, touching many lives with her positive energy, sense of humor, acts of kindness, love of animals generosity.

She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. A memorial service to celebrate Georgia's life will be held on Sat. Aug. 2nd at 10 AM at 1917 Brill St. in Phoenix.

Family friends are encouraged to share a memory of Georgia. Together again someday, "We love you Granny!".
