Lidia Guerra Capps, 59, was called Home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2005. She was born in Glendale, Arizona on July 12, 1946 and attended Beauty Academy and became an accomplished Cosmetologist and eventually attended Southern Arizona Bible College, where she dedicated her life to God's work. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Sada and Manuel Dominguez and a son and daughter-in-law Benjamin Luis and Lorena Capps. Three grandchildren: Jessica, Andrew, Odessa Capps, four sisters: Mary Jane, Martha, Esther and Margaret and one brother John. Cordon Wesley Driggs, 83, passed away on August 13, 2005 in Mesa, AZ. He was born i on November 26, 1921 in Mesa. He I graduated from Phoenix Union High School, ASU, ana Indiana Graduate School. Cor don served his country during WWII in the Ub Na vy. He retired as Sr.

Vice President of Western Savings and Loan where he worked for many years. Cordon also served has City Council Member from 1984-1992 including Vice Mayor. Cordon was a member of many boards including: the school board, Past President of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, President of the Amateur Athletic Association, Executive Board of the Arizona Interscholastic Association, Mesa Lutheran Hospital, and Pre-Hab. He served as the United Way Campaign Chairman where he was a member for many years and also as a past President, governor and member of Sertoma Service Club of Mesa for 50 years. Cordon was a referee for 40 years for High School Football, Basketball and Swimming.

Cordon' was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He lived his life in service to his fellow man. Cordon is survived by his wife, Florence McKinstry Driggs; sons: Stuart (Lori), Blair (Jayne), and Matthew; daughters: Judi (Deceased) and Bette-Sue (Richard) Burklund; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He married his high srhnnl cuuppthpart. Mary Furr on May 2, 1941. Orvel attended Mesa High School, Arizona State Teachers College and Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He was an auditor for the State of Arizona and compiled and published the 1941 Arizona financial report. He served in WWII as a Naval Air Supply Officer.

He was an accomplished business executive. He is the last surviving pioneer of the evaporative air cooler industry in the United States. He was a pioneer in marketing evaporative coolers in the Middle East. He founded Dial Manufacturing an evaporative cooler parts manufacturer. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many teaching and leadership positions.

He loved to play golf with his favorite foursome. He loved to travel. He was a gifted leader and an example to everyone who knew him. He was very generous and giving to those in need. He was most happy around his children, grandchildren and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Furr Johnston, his children Jay Johnston (Careen), Duane Johnston (Pamela), Jana Parker Lee (John) and Reed Johnston (Shirley), 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at Hansen Chapel, 8314 North 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bethany Home Ward, 8710 North 3rd Avenue, Phoenix, 85021. 22, 2005 in Illinois. Leaving suddenly much too soon, Barry's great smile, carefree personality and good humor will be greatly missed by all. Kuhn was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1914. She came to the United States in 1951, settling in New York City. She married Colonel Coleman Kuhn, and upon his retirement from the Air Force in 1975, they moved to Scottsdale. Exhibit ing a great love of her new country, Mrs.

Kuhn orchestrated the refurbishing of the Merci Train boxcar, a gift from the people of France to the people of Arizona after World War II. It now stands restored at McCormick Railroad Park in Scottsdale. In 1989 she initiated and organized the now annual city of Scottsdale-sponsored Veterans' Day Memorial Service. For her many contributions to the city, she was inducted into the Scottsdale History Hall of Fame in 2004. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm on Tuesday, August 30, at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E.

Indian School Rd. in Scottsdale, followed by memorial service at 2 pm. Burial will be at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Scottsdale. After the service and burial a reception will be held.

He was a musician for 20yrs was an original member of Wanda Jackson the Party Timers. He was well known throughout the country music industry as a member of the Catalinas. He worked at Gompers, a school for handicapped for 20yrs. He was employed as a security guard at Wells Fargo for the past lOyrs. All his life he served his community humanity.

Jimi was born on Febru ary 25, 1936 in Woodward, Okla homa. The family moved to La Puente, California! from Oklahoma on June 1. 1952. Jim graduated fromi Puente High 3UIIUUI III 1333 dMU served in the U.S. Air Force from September 1955 through October 1959.

He married Cather ine Mae Henry on June 2, 1956 and they had three children, David, Carol Ann and Kathleen. Jim worked for the Pennzoil Company in sales and management from September 1, 1964 until his retirement on June 1, 1990. Jim and his family relocated to Phoenix with Pennzoil in 1980 and he lived here the rest of his life, enjoying golf and the Arizona outdoors. Jim and Catherine shared a love of golf and their travel trailer, as they crisscrossed the U.S. and Canada during the past 20 years.

Jim was an avid golfer and a volunteer with the Arizona Golf Association, the Phoenix Open, LPGA and ASU Women's golf team. He was honored as 2003 Volunteer of the Year by the Arizona Golf Association. Jim was a member of Blessed Sacrament parish in Scottsdale and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, Council 10050. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Ann, his father, Oliver and brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Catherine (Scottsdale); mother, Alma; brother, Don; David, Paula, Emma and Joseph Hamilton (Albany, NY); Kathleen, Danny, Danielle and James Gillespie (Glendale); family members, friends and colleagues.

Although Jim's time with us may have been too short, he was an inspiration to all who knew him and his memory will be cherished for years to come. The family extends special thanks to staff at the hospice of the Valley, Coronado House, who made Jim's last days comfortable and peaceful. Bernard W. Harmon passed away at his friend's home in Mesa, Arizona on August 9, 2005 at the age of 41. The only son of Linda Hess (Tejero) and Benny W. Harmon, Bernard was born in Ewa Beach, HI on March 26, 1964. He joined the army in 1982 where he served in the Military Police.

Following active duty, he joined the US Army Reserves and continued service until September of 1992. A gifted artist, Bernard enjoyed jewelry making, drawing and writing poetry. He was an active member of the Na Leo O'Ke Kai Canoe Club. Bernard is survived by his, mother, Linda; three sisters, Jennifer, Dorothy and Bernadette; his sons Jeremy and Aaron, daughter Katelyn, nine nieces and nephews and his Na Leo O'ke Kai ohana. Services will be held in the chapel at North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 N.

He was employed as a ViJ'ftl'Sy salesman for Allis Chalmers before becoming a real estate broker, dealing in Commercial Sales. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was a Mason, a member of Eastern Star and the American Legion.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Bette, his parents, and brother David. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Parti and Jim Ellis of Vera Beach, FL, daughter Gaye McMichael of Raymore, MO, and brother Tom Harshman. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Monday August 22nd at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Memory Lawn.

Betty Elaine Hoehne, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona, died on August 12, 2005. She was born on August 29, 1920 in Fayette, Iowa. A son, Burton Hoehne and VD'M'Jy two daughters, Annette Tripke and Dianne Speer, survive her. She also has six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her husband, Carl Hoehne, mother, Helen Greenough, father, Arch Greenough and two sisters, preceded Betty in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on August 19, 2005, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 3030 E. Thunderbird Rd Phoenix, AZ Elsie E. Hunter, 96, of Sarasota, FL. Passed away August 16, 2005.

Born on February 28, 1909 in Gobies, Michigan. Survivors include her daughter, Ardath Hunter of Sarasota, sons, Raymond Paul Hunter of Bowie, TX, and Carl L. Howard B. Jensen, Dec. 12, 1930-Aug. 10, 2005, age 74, left this earth surrounded by nis loving wife and children on August 10. He was born in Nampa, Idaho to Howard B.

Jensen Sr. and Ida I. Bowles. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, June. His children Lennie (Patti) Jensen, his daughter Susan Drake, and Bryan (Melissa) Jensen.

I Services entrusted to Universal Memorial Center. Valeriy (Val) Alexandrovich Babyuk passed away on August 13th 2005. He was born July 23, 1958 in Sverdlovsk Russia. From an early age he was involved in music and dance. By the age of 15 he became dance champion of the Ural region.

Soon his hobby became his profession. He went on to win several championships in Russia and Europe. In 1988 he became the formal Russian Champion of ballroom dance. Many of his students went on to become champion dancers themselves. In September 2000 he was invited to the USA to teach ballroom dancing in Phoenix Az.

He relocated to Florida in 2003, where he continued teaching and worked to bring other Russian professionals to the US. His son, Artie and wife Yelena in Phoenix; his father, brother and extended family in Russia survive him. He was an exceptionally brilliant and talented man. His students and friends from all over the world will sadly miss him. A memorial celebration of his life will take place at Pronto Restaurant, 3910 Campbell Phx Az.

She was born May 30th, 1924 to Paul and Tressa (Burrows) McCray in Corry, Pennsylvania. Roberta graduated from high school in her home town of Elgin, PA in 1942 and moved to Buf falo, NY where she com-pleted training as a regis- tered nurse at Meyer Hos- pital. In October of 1949, she married Neil Brown and remained in the Buffalo area for many years.

Roberta was preceded in death by her son, Todd, husband, Neil Brown, who passed away August 15th, 1985 and her sister, Betty McCray who passed away in 2001. Roberta is survived by ner sons Clem and Scott, who reside in Scottsdale, AZ and Warren, MA respectively. Roberta has eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren whom together with family will cherish her exceptionally strong spirit, devout religious beliefs, generosity and love forever in their memory.
