Services Monday through Saturday night will be at P.M. Buddy uses colored chalk and a series of lights to illustrate a different message each night. Chamber Shine Week April 4-8 A very energetic Chamber met this past week with plans to clean up Checotah's business district and also the residential areas. Clean up week begins April 4th with free dump days on Friday, April 8th and Saturday April 9th from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Look around and see wha you can do to help checotah We want a town that we can. all be proud of and if everyone will make some effort we will see some tremendous results.

People have found that through putting their "unselfish prid in their to work, by taking time to envision what their community could be, by creating new ideas and putting these ideas to work through the cooperation and enthusiastic support from city Government, Chamber of Commerce, and Community Organization that they can change the overall image and the quality of life in their communities. Wo have already had several civic-minded person's volunteer to help; including our Mayor, Floyd Beaird, County Commissioner Marvin James, Robert Earhart and the Boy Scouts, and individuals who have volunteered pickups. Page 2) Murr Wins Scholarship Daniel Murr of Oktaha was awarded a $350 Oklahoma Production Credit Association Scholarship here late Wed nesday (March 23) at the Agricultural Economics Awards Banquet at Oklahoma State University.

Murr, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Murr of Rt 1, Oktaha, received the award for his academic excellence. County To Get Grant For Summer Program Governor Borcn has announced that Mcintosh County will receive $57,852 under Oklahoma's 1977 Summer Program for Economically Disadvantaged Youth (SPEDY).

Administration of the program in the county will be handled by the Muskogee County Community A Action Agency headquarted in Stilwell. The Youth Program is expected to begin in mid-May. Boren said the U.S. Department of Labor has allocated a total of $4,003,572 to 69 counties. Canadian, Cleveland, Comanche, Creek Logan, Oklahoma, Osage and Tulsa counties are funded directly by the Department of Labor.

"The program will primarily consist of experience' type jobs with public agencies," Boren said, "and will last through the summer until the beginning Easter Week services Told Holy Week and Easter Services will be held at The Federated Presbyterian-Christian (Disciples of Christ) Cnecotah' in observance of the last week in the life of Jesus and His resurrection.
