Bancroft Lady Honored On 84th Birthday Mary Guide celebrated her 84th birthday at the Heritage Rest Home in Bancroft March 10. She was a seamstress in Bancroft for about 30 years after she came here to care for her parents. Because Mrs. Guide had diabetes she could not celebrate her birthday with the traditional party but she received many well wishes from her sister and numerous friends. MARCH 13 - Admitted: Flor- NEIGHBORS AROUND THE TOWN & COUNTRY Meet Joe Buscher Jr., Algona Joe Buscher, Jr., this week's Country Neighbor, is almost a lifelong resident of Kossuth county. He missed by three years, having been born while his parents farmed nearGilmore City 29 years ago. He resides with his family and farms in partnership with a brother, Larry, on a farm 1 1/2 miles west of Algona on McGregor Road. During 1966, the Buschers worked 675 acres, with 300 acres of corn, 315 acres of beans, 40 diverted acres and 10 acres of pasture, which serves 10 cows with calves. Joe's favorite job around the place is harvesting the crops and he lists softball, fishing, boating and water skiing as his hobbies. He is a member of the KC's. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Buscher, Sr., have lived in Algona since their retirement a few years ago. Mrs. Buscher is the former Chris Christensen and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Christensen, live at Webster City. She met Joe when the .latter was employed on a construction job and is a member of the C.D.A. here. Her hobbies include sewing and boating and she is an avid baseball fan. She also spends quite a bit of time taking care of their active young daughter, Jacqueline Jean, 2. Joe has 12 brothers and sisters, including Bob, Gib, Jim, Dick, Tom, Ron, Larry and Jeanette (Mrs. Jim McEnroe), Algona; Raymond, New Hampton; John, Billings, Mont.; Mary Jo (Mrs. Merlin Studer), Wesley; and Katherine (Mrs. Ed Reeve), Manhattan, Kans.
