of the country I j1 noticed an old chimney standing alone in an old field and asked the man who 1 was with me what he knew about it i Hs told me that had helped to build that chimney over fifty years ago He then told me something of the people who had lived in the old hduse As I heard his story how wished that I might turn the clock back for fifty years and with a moving picture camera reproduce the scenes as they took place in this old log house in the gone days Suppose we try it: Here is the first picture The new cabin with this same chimney that has stood all these years Here comes a wagon drawn by aa ox team loaded with household effects In front of the team walks a tall young man with an ox whip over his shoulder and with a swish of the lash and a stentorian he brings the wagon to a stop in front of the cabin He steps lightly to the wagon and takes a pretty young woman in his arms and lifts her to the ground It takes no second look to see that she is a bride she is so young and looks so delicate amid the rough surroundings and is smiling so bravely into the face of her young husband They forget the oxen and the things in the wagon and pass through the door into their home their home and as the camera flips in a quick change we leave them with their eyes full of love for each other and hope for the future little dreaming of the rough thorny paths they must tread I The scene changes years intervene and we see the same old cabin and the same old chimney Another room has been built on and the cotton is blooming in the fields that have been cleared The tall young man and the pretty little woman are older now and pther young faces are soon around the place But all is not well some of the neighbors are around the house and yard The Old horse is hitched at the gate The tall young man and the pretty little woman are leaning over the bed and with breaking hearts are waiting for the Death Angel who is hovering near to carry away their little golden haired Darling Again the scene changes more years have passed The tall young man and the pret- ty little woman are growing gray But the house is full of life and gaiety It takes only a glance to see that it is a wedding The daughter of the house is going out with another tall young man to play the great game of life like her little mother before her and as we watch her and her tall young man while the music is the sweetest and the dance' the gayest the picture fades and again the years roll by The tall young man is bent and gray and the pretty little face is full of 'lines left by care and sorrow A carriage is waiting at the gate and father and mother are bidding farewell to the old cabin They are going to live with son in the big white house a mile down the road Owing to the fact that the
