Born at Basic City, he was the son of the late John R. Gardner and Julia (Bruck) Gardner. He was the son of ihe late John R. Gardner and Julia (Bruck Gardner. He was an IBM programmer at American University, Washington.

CLARENCE R. MILLER PAW Frances Pearl Miller, 51. died yesterday at City Hospital in Martinsburg. She had been seriously ill the past Ihree weeks and had been in ill health the past several years. Born August 30, 1924, in Slanesville, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Martha (Kaylor) Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence R. Miller; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Susan Fletcher; two sons, Leo Richard Miller and Junior Lee Miller, all of here; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Bohrer, and Mrs. Dorothy Bohrer, both of Slanesville; and Mrs.

Catherine McKinley, Points; four brothers, John L. Born here, he was the son of the late Andrew Robertson and Mary (Pattonl Robertson. Mr. Robertson was a veteran of World War II, a former businessman here, a member of Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company, Alvin C. Neat Post Veterans of Foreign Wars, James P. Love Post American Legion.

MRS. W. C. BERNARD OAKLAND Mrs. Edith Lillian Bernard, 81, of RD 1, Swanton, died Sunday at Ihe home of a daughter, Mrs, Flora Godwin, with whom she resided.

Born in Swanton, May 11, 1894, she was the daughter of the late John Albert Wright and Flora (McRobie) Wright. Her husband, William C. Bernard, preceded her in death. She was a member of Our Father's House Episcopal Chapel. in" addition to Mrs.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Harrison Smith, and her second husband, Francis Williams, who died on April 17. She is 'survived by three Mrs.

today. Order Issued To Halt Mine Worker Strike ELKINS, W. Va. (UPI) U.S. District Judge Robert Maxwell issued a temporary restraining order Monday against a striking United Mine Workers local in Monongalia County.

Maxwell ordered about 400 miners to return to their jobs at the Blacksville No. 2 mine of ColsolidationCoalCo. A walkout developed Friday over what the UMW described as a grievance involving pay for holidays and birthdays. Maxwell ordered a return to work, pending the outcome of the grievance procedure. Further, Microdyne will acquire the insured property when the Joan is paid off. The amount of the project will not exceed $200,000 and will be financed over a 20-year period. The discovery of the body of an infant boy yesterday afternoon in a metal container, about 30 feet off the south side of State Street in Frostburg, remains under investigation today, according to Lawrence V.Kelly, State's Attorney.

The partially-decomposed body was found by James Gracie and William Kenney, both nine years old, who live in Frost Village. The boys were playing in the area about 4:45 p.m. yesterday and reported their discovery to a Frostburg State College student, William R. McPherson, who notified Frostburg police. Dr.

Benedict Skitarelic, deputy county medical examiner, is awaiting additional tests from the autopsy he performed yesterday at the Hafer-Sower Funeral Home at Frostburg'. Dr. Skitarelic said today the infant could have been dead as long as four weeks. He said yesterday there was no indication of foul play. The infant reportedly was found in a waste paper type container in an area where trash was thrown in the past.

A Stewart Avenue resident complained a battery was stolen from a car parked in the back yard. The complaint was' logged at 6:23 a.m. yesterday.
