Mrs. Witham Hostess To Seneca Club SENECA - Mrs. Everett Witham was hostess to the Seneca Thursday club at her home Saturday afternoon, a meeting which had originally been scheduled for Thursday. Thirteen members answered roll call by giving a Valentine verse. Secret sister names were drawn for the current year. Mrs. Witham had charge of the entertainment, with prizes won by Mrs. Ervln Jensen, Mrs. Henrietta Thompson and Mrs. Henry Looft. Mrs. Hans Jensen will be the March hostess. Members are asked to bring and model an Easter bonnet which they have designed. - o - Mr. and Mrs. Henry Looft and Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit De Waard of rural Wesley met at the Bertha Pommer home at Algona Sunday afternoon and accompanied Mrs. Pommer to an open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Jess Hill, Algona, on their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was held at Charlie's Supper Club, south of Algona. Loren Menz, student at Iowa State University, Ames, spent the quarter break with his parents, the Clarence Menzs. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jensen were Sunday evening guests at the Everett Wlthams. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Osborn and David attended the showing of the film, "Alaska", under the auspices of the Fairmont fire department at the Fairmont VFW auditorium, Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crouch and Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Crouch and family of Armstrong drove to'Sioux City Sunday and spent the day with Bonnie Crouch, a student at Morningside College. They helped Bonnie observe a birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Olsen hosted Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Olsen and family of Ringsted, and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Zltt- ritsch and famUy of Terrll, at dinner at their home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. VerlSmithdrove to Burlington and spent the weekend with their daughter and husband, Mr. , and Mrs. George Owens. Mrs. Henrietta Thompson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Harold Swanson and children of Armstrong to Early, la., Sunday where they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Miller and family. Mrs. Miller Is the former Marge Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Petersen and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Friesth and Doreen and Mark of Badger, were last Sunday dinner guests of the Clarence Cheevers, rural Ringsted. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Menz entertained Saturday evening at dinner in honor of their daughter Anna's sixteenth birthday anniversary. Guests Included Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chrischilles, Mr. and Mrs. Marold Schlei and family and Mr. and Mrs. Wlllard Menz and family, all of Fenton. Mrs. Carol Menz left a week ago Friday for Columbus, Ga., for a visit with friends. Mrs. Menz and her late husband, Roger, and the Kirkendahls were close friends when the men were stationed in Germany on a tour of army duty. Dr. and Mrs. Donald Baldwin of Des Molnes spent the weekend with the Cecil Baldwins. Mrs. Florence Lynch will hostess the Jolly Jokers at her home next week Thursday. Mrs Lynch is substituting for Mrs. Nina Kracht during her illness. Several Seneca friends of the Oscar Pattersons visited them the weekend of Feb. 18 and helped Mrs. Patterson observe a birthday anniversary. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. C. 0. Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Witham, also the Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Miller, rural Ringsted; Mr, and Mrs. Eugene Friesth and children of Badger; Mrs. Donald Cronk and children, rural Armstrong; and Mrs. R. A. Busch, rural Ringsted; and Mr. and Mrs. Holgar Petersen and Debra of Algona. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Yungeberg of Algona were Saturday evening guests at the iSverett Wlthams. Mrs. Ted Jensen accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Henry Looft to Spencer Saturday morning where Mrs. Jensen and Mrs. Looft recorded a program for "The Christian Woman Speaks'' at tlw KICD radio station.
