The winners led, 17-8, 34-13 and 41-25 at the quarter breaks to win handily. FT 14-18 1-3 4-5 0-0 0-0 0-0 0-0 0-0 0-0 Sorensen topped Ringsted in scoring with 32 points, while the winners were led by Broderson with 19, Loomis with 18 and Kassel, 16. In free throw competition, Sue Hack, Laurens, was crowned champion as she hit 23 of 25, while Vicki Elmers, Sentral, was next with 21 of 25. Each received a trophy for her school and an individual medal. Supt. D- G. Keoppel presented trophies Only Hi-lex has Ingredient X Twin Rivers, Sentral, Ayshlre, Kanawha, Corwith-Wesley and Woden-Crystal Lake advanced to Girls' District Basketball Tournament play as a result of Sectional Tourney finals and consolation games Thursday night. At Sentral, Twin Rivers bested the Satellites in the championship contest, 63-53, and Ayrshire sidelined Ringsted, 53-42, in the consolation; while at LuVerne, Kanawha won the title from Corwith-Wesley, 68-64, and Woden- Crystal Lake sent Ledyard out of the meet with a 76-51 verdict in the consolation. Sentral, Twin Rivers and Ayrshire thus advanced to District play at Rolfe this week. Twin Rivers built a narrow 14-12 first quarter lead into a 10-point bulge at halftlme, 3424, thanks to the scoring of Connie Christiansen and Susan Cran. They had 29 points between them in the first 16 minutes, while Teresa Voigt had nine, Betty Wehrspann eight and Vicki Elmers seven for Sentral. Miss Elmers, who canned 22 points in the final half, made Twin Rivers work for the win, but the taller Humboldt county club had little trouble after posting a 50-35 lead at the three- quarter mark. Christiansen wound up with 40 points and Miss Cran got 18 for the winners, while Miss Elmers got 29, Voigt 12 and Wehrspann 10 for the Sentral entry. Under the boards, Elmers and Renee Douglas led the losers, while Christiansen and Johnson nabbed most of the Twin Rivers rebounds.
